California Temperatures on the Rise

Study Shows Two-Degree Increase From 1950-2000:  A new study by NASA and California State University, Los Angeles shows that "Average temperatures in California rose nearly two degrees Fahrenheit during the second half of the 20th century, with urban areas blazing the way to warmer conditions."  You can read a synopsis and see a map and chart at NASA's Earth Observatory site.

The higher temperatures in rural areas "may reflect the contribution of global warming due to rising greenhouse gas concentrations."

NASA climatologist Bill Patzert is quoted as saying, “California nights are heating up, giving us a jump start on hotter days.”

What do you think of the findings?  Will it mean less snow in the mountains and drier growing seasons for the huge agricultural industry in the Golden State?  Post your thoughts here.

It is sad, but true about the votes.  Too bad you don't know someone from CA.  Send it to them, and then have them send it in!  That was pathetic and wrong.  Now I know why I never heard back from Arnold's office, when I asked for help in locating a family member that went missing.  He was later found - a victim of a mugging, but survived.  We did not feel at the time we were receiving adequate help from the local police department.  So, I should of moved to CA during that time, just so that office would recognize my request.  What a shame!

I have contacted the Govenor's office in California and one of his aids asked me to send the data about reducing emissions. After spending over $20.00 to overnight the data, I called again an reached a new aid and he asked where I was from. When he heard I was from Illinois, he said he was sorry that they only accepted information from California. It's a shame that all they cared about was votes. I believe Arnold really cares but you can't get to him. So if anyone knows him, tell him to contact me for a solution. Thanks, bobmueller1@aol.com
