Environmental News Roundup: Parks, Storms and Fox
Here's a quick look at some of the stories from the past week.
Entrance fees are going up at many national parks through 2009.
The formation of tropical storm Andrea on May 9, three weeks before the "official" start to hurricane season, is not all that unusual and not necessarily due to global warming, scientists say.
And Rupert Murdoch announced this week that News Corp., which owns Fox News Channel, will be going green. He "launched a company-wide plan to address climate change that includes not only a pledge to reduce the company's emissions (which has come to be expected at such biz-greening events) but also a vow to weave climate messaging into the content and programming of News Corp.'s many holdings," according to Grist magazine.
It's great to see Murdoch doing this. Many companies are taking action on climate and energy issues before the U.S. government does. Murdoch's move raises the question as to whether his media outlets, especially Fox News Channel, will change their tunes on climate change -- and now admit that it is real and an important issue, because their boss thinks so.

Mount Penatubo in the Phillipines put out more CO2 and other gases than humans have since prior to the industrial revolution. If Yellowstones volcano goes we will see years with out a summer. If volcanic activity were to increase by 50% we would see colder heaters.
If Solar activity where to increase to levels seen in the past and are cyclic then you will have even more problems.
Lets not foget the Atlantic conveyor current that helps keep Europe warm. If it stops then you have all sorts of global problems.
Humans can not stop any of these.
Now does this mean we stop trying to improve the environment? No, but please I am sick to death of people, especially Al Gore who run around blaming everything on Humans. The planet is not going to end tomorrow. the planet will go on even without us. The life migh be insects, but there will be life.
If you do not believe then look at Black Smokers in ocean deoths. Sciene did not believe life could exist there until they found it.
Never listen to someone who talks the talk, but does not walk the walk. Look at who is crying the loudest about and see what their profit is in makng you afraid.
