[The Wisdom of a Distracted Mind] Hmmm....

Now, here's a quote from a news story for you to digest:
"What you have to spew and spread is extremely dangerous . . . it's dangerous for our children to even know that your philosophy exists!["]
Well, that sounds a little harsh, doesn't it? I mean, what is this pernicious, dangerous philosophy?

Let's continue, shall we?
"This is the Land of Lincoln where people believe in God," Davis said. "Get out of that seat . . . You have no right to be here! We believe in something. You believe in destroying! You believe in destroying what this state was built upon."
Ah... Someone is popping a gasket over someone else believing in something different. And, who is this fire-breathing, god-soaked ninny demanding to strip away the rights of those who don't believe the same, regardless of the fact that they are not required to? Is it Pastor Hagee? Phred Phelps?

Why no! It's Illinois State Representative, Monique Davis (D-Chicago).

Now, being as I am from Wisconsin, and seeing as how this mindless, prattling twat represents the City of Chicago, I honestly couldn't be happier. This woman has done more to damage her constituency in a few simple sentences than the Cubs and Bears could ever accomplish. She's made Chicago shine like some backwoods, redneck hellhole, and as a Packers' fan, I have to smile. Yes. Wisconsinites can be crazy and stupid, but I doubt you will you find our elected officials so blatantly throwing the Constitution into the fire while actively stripping the rights from honest American citizens for no other reason than the simple fact that she doesn't share their beliefs or lack thereof. After all, this is the birthplace of the Republican party (the party of Lincoln).

The real beauty of it is that Chicagoans actually elected this moron who, in just a few simple words, has adequately demonstrated that she is woefully unqualified to hold public office.

QED: You have no right to be here!

What's next for this bitch? Is she going to string the burned and broken carcasses of atheists and heretics up from the Watertower on Michigan Ave. because, apparently, according to this ruthless disgrace of an American, they have no rights, and in the Land of Lincoln, "Gott mitt uns?"

I think what Representative Davis is actually displaying here is something considerably more damaging than her treasonous notions of persecuting non-Christians. What we see with her is a full-blown case of religious addiction and a very dangerous level of paranoia. What causes this, I believe, is a dysfunctional lack of faith which leads to a crippling level of confusion where contrived evils begin popping out of the woodwork, and Monique Davis clearly seems to have stepped from reality into a world of delusion filled with hobgoblins, monsters and an undeserving segment of the citizenry for no other reason than the fact that they do not share her delusions.

Religion is a dangerous thing, people, and this can be demonstrated perfectly by the bizarre sense of entitlement Representative Davis displays. She feels she belongs in this nation and her voice matters while her fellow honest Americans. And, these are the people whose taxes pay this worthless, ungrateful woman's salary.

Religion promotes ignorance and a fear of the unknown. This fear, in turn, can easily lead to hatred, and from there, it's a simple skip to the exact same oppression and persecution this nation's original settlers sought to escape in the first damn place.

It's definitely clear that Monique Davis needs a hell of a lot of serious help (seen here in a more detailed account of the exchange).

On the plus side, this Packers' fan now has another reason to laugh at Chicago during the NFL off-season. After all, Monique, if you're not a Green Bay Packers' fan, you have no right to live in this country, nor hold public office, nor even have the right to vote. You are simply an untouchable.

What? There's a difference between my belief that the Packers are the best and your brand of Christianity?

Is there really a difference?

I agree completely with you.  (except for maybe that little twat part)  Although I have many reasons to laugh during Bears off season.  My husband is a Bears AND Cubs fan.  Nuff Said.
