Happy Belated New Years

I havent edited my journal since I realized that I was putting WAAAYYY too much effort into it. I had links going to specific articles on everyone/every animal, I had links going to the year ago today entries. That is just WAAAY too much work ya know? Especially when I just want to type out my day. So....they link to that journal with all the entries on everyone in my life is going to be put up in the Other Sites area, I suppose, on this journal. If you want to know something about someone then go there. Its too much for me to link it to every name in every entry.

So I've been at the New Store as a Dog Groomer for over 3 months now. Its good. I've made friends.... :) <big smile> Jme and I are doing great. He has a second job. He's had it for a little while now. All the animals are doing great. We have Neo (GSD/Chow), Spike (cat), Dragon (Beta fish), Stitch, Lilo, Leroy, Tux, and Cheyanne (Pomernaians), Skeeter, Scooter, & Skatter (ferrets). All are well. Cheyanne was my xmas present from Jme. We went to AL to get her. Brought her home...she started coughing. Took her to the vet...she had heartworms. Treatment is finally over on that. Thank God. Lilo is pregnant...well, possibly. If she isnt, then its a false pregnancy because her belly is SOOO big. We still havent moved into the new house. They owners dont seem to be in a hurry to fix everything and that is getting on my nerves. We will probably be evicted from the apartment so I hope they hurry their butts up on the house. That way we'll have a place to live. For Christmas, Danny proposed to Mom. He got her a 2kt ring. WOW!!! It has its own gravitational pull... I'm not kidding lol. Well, thats everything in a nutshell. I'll post more regularly later. :)

Some Things Change Weird

Well, I've officially been a Professional Pet Stylist going on 3-4 weeks. I dont exactly remember. I like it. I like the New Store that I am at. They are all so nice and I'm making really good money. I mean really good. I pull in over $100 a day now on average and thats always good for me. :)

All the animals are doing fine. We added 2 new ferrets. So now we have Scooter, Skeeter, and Skatter. Jme and I are doing fine. He got his Ninja bike fixed and rides it to and from now. He got promoted to Driver/Operator at the Fire Dept and got a new job starting this next week at Advanced Auto Parts. We are also looking to buy a house from his sister. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, and a pool. So everything is going pretty good right now. I just thought I'd drop by, I cant stay on long though, too tired lol. So ya'll have fun and I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Graduation

I didnt realize it had been this long since I had put a new entry in this journal. Wow! When did AOL change the way you enter your entries? Anyways, that really doesnt matter since they are always changing something about their journals. My least favorite still being the ads at the top of the page that almost destroyed the community built in JLand. But off that subject. Jme and I are doing good. He still hasnt found a second job but other things are turning up. One being him no longer being classified as a firefighter at the fire dept. He's now a Driver/Operator. That means a pay raise. Not much but still a pay raise. We've been squeeking by with my one job and his FD job. So hopefully that one dollar will help out. Not to mention that I signed up for insurance through Petco which is a lot cheaper than the FD insurance I had. So that should save us some money there. Also, today was my last day as a Grooming Assistant/Grooming School Student. I am now a Professional Pet Stylist...aka....a Dog Groomer lol. Today was hectic at work. I did about 8 dogs. I cant remember the exact number. I just remember that I stopped counting at 8. I didnt make commision though as it was my last day as a student. I start working nights this week at the salon that I trained at. The one I first got the job at back in June. Ill be making commision so hopefully it'll be good and I wont freak out/mess up/get in trouble. So wish me luck there lol. After that there wont be any room for me as a groomer so I am transfering to a store about 25 minutes away from the store I am currently at. I dont know my schedule there, but I am told that I will like it there. Thats about all for right now. I'm tired and I promised Savannah (next door neighbor/great friend/ great friends gf) that I would go to church with her in the morning. I'm pretty tired as it is and having to get up early on my day off means that I may need to go to bed early tonight. So I hope you all have a good day tomorrow and a good week. I'll post more later on this week as to how it is going. Oh, I almost forgot.....My test scores for my Grooming School are as follows:

Blade Written Test: 100

Beginners Written Test: 100

Cat Written Test: 100

Advanced Final Written Exam: 97

Handscissor Dog Test: 100

Sporting Dog Test: 100

Long Legged Terrier Dog Test: 100

And of course I didnt forget about the links to the previous entries from a year ago. I hope you enjoy the reading. Jme and I went as the same thing this year. I'll try and get photos up one day lol. It seems I said that last year too but never got around to it. : x

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Hmmm, the age old question..."Why do bad things happen to good people?" Jme and I are good people. Or at least thats what I would like to believe. We fell in love, we moved in together. We did great. Then he got injured. We fell behind on bills. We lost the house he was buying for us. Yet through all of that we got married. We stayed happy. I went to a new school...took out loans for it too...and what happened? I failed. We lost one of the cars. Yet we stayed happy and we managed to start to pull ourselved out of the gutter. We started going out and having fun. Then we get behind again, and then we get ahead. We were doing great, until some A-hole decided to be a jerk and fire Jme for a stupid reason. So its been around 3 weeks now. We're already hurting because of it. Jme has no prospective jobs. No one has called. So I ask again...why do bad things happen to good people? It's things like these that put me in a mood that I dont like going into. This mood is inevitable when I worry. Yes, I'm worrying. I'm worrying that we'll lose everything, that both of our credit will go to S#!+ because of some stupid A-hole. I worry that we'll lose to apartment and owe them the thousands of dollars it takes to break the lease (not up till august 2007). That we'll lose everything we own, the car, the dogs, the cat, the ferret, our simplest possessions. I dont know if he knows or not, but I cry at night. When he's downstairs and I'm upstairs. I sit with my book and cry. I just finished my book. Great book. There's a quote of it in my "Quote of the Day" section. That section seems to not get updated everyday though.

The other day while Jme was at the Fire Dept I was out to dinner with Mom and Danny. Just before we left Danny asked me to sell his 2002 Olympic Snowboard on ebay. He gave me a base price and everything. I figured I could sell it. So I said ok. Then he said to keep what I got from it and use it to finish buying my grooming supplies for school and to fix up Jme's bike he bought. I almost cried when he said that. The only problem is finding someone to buy the snowboard from me. I have a link to it in the right column of this journal. I put it up on ebay. Hopefully it'll sell. If it does then it can bring my bank acct out of the negative and then go to what it is supposed to. Jme and I cant survive on the Fire Dept and my job alone. Unlike other states or cities, Horn lake doesnt pay their Fire Depts enough at all. 99% of their firemen HAVE to have a second job to support themselves and their families. I just hope that something happens soon to bring Jme and I out of this 2 yr rut that we have been in since he hurt himself at the Fire Dept. I know I'm asking for a miracle, but ya know... I hear they happen sometimes, miracles.

Update:

I was sent this really cute email and it got to me. I thought about it. It has something to do with the subject although only select people will grasp what the connection is.

The Good Wife's Guide

-Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready, on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favourite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.

-Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up,  put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary peopl.e

-Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. his boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.

-Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives.

-Gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper etc and then run a dustcloth over tables.

-Over the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

-Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part. Minimise all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet.

-Be happy to see him.

-Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in  your desire to please him.

-Listen to him. You may  have a dozen important things to tell him, but th moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first-remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

-Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.

-Your goal: Try to make sure your home is a place of peace, order, and tranquility where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

-Dont greet him with complaints and problems.

-Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or have him lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

-Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing, and pleasant voice.

-Dont ask him questions about his actions or question his judgement or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house, and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him

-A good wife always knows her place.

In The Past 2 Weeks

In the past two weeks we've had some DRAMA. I started Grooming School and it is a little harder than you'd think. Ms. Ginger keeps telling me that she is proud of me and that I am doing a good job. That always makes me happy. I seem to be doing better than Kristy and she is graduating in 6 weeks. She's taken the written tests though and I havent taken a written test except my blade test. Speaking of blades, I now can cross off 2 more things from my supply list that I have to have b4 I graduate. I already crossed off my clippers and my #10 blade. Now I can cross off my #5FC blade and my #30 blade. One pair of my Shears should be in in 12 days then I can cross that off. I still have these to buy:

All Breed 160 Dog Grooming Book

Stone Guide to Dog Grooming

At least 3 more shears (diff types and lengths)

Blades:

2 #40s

1 #30

2 #15s

3 #7FCs

1 #5FC

2 #4FCs

1 #5/8HT

2 #7/8s

Now onto other things. Monday Jme got fired from NAPA. He worked the whole day and at the end of the day his boss called him into the office and told him that if he cant work 9-6 instead of 8-5 then they'd have to let him go. When he started there they had an agreement of 8-5 since Jme has to pick me up from work. I wait after work 1.5 hrs for him to get off. They also said that NAPA was more important than the Fire Dept. So he has been searching for another job to work with his FD schedule. No luck yet :( Things have been stressful because of that and some other things I suppose. Jme and I are still getting along greatly.

Dustin and Brandie are expecting a baby in April. We're going for a boy lol. Saw Dustin for the first time for over an hr last night. Brandie has been sick and he's been over at her house a lot. She's only 10 wks pregnant. I dont know a lot about pregnancy but I wouldnt figure that she'd be in bed rest that soon. Oh well. Not my business I suppose.

October is almost here and that means HALLOWEEN. Ms. Ginger has a Halloween party at her house each year. Jme and I are invited. Its the weekend before Halloween. Jme works so I will probably go alone. It'll be fun to see my boss drunk. And everyone knows that I take pictures lol. Anyways, I guess thats all for now.

Grooming School

I'm so sorry that I havent posted in 10 days. I started Grooming School Monday and it has taken a lot of my energry. Well, Petco has taken a lot of my energy anyways but this Grooming School has taken more. I wanted to come home and go to sleep today but I had to go let the dogs out for Mom and then I came home and played a game or two online. Then I started searching www.ebay.com and www.petedge.com for things that I will need to order for grooming school trying to see which one had the same products for a lower price. Then I ate dinner, fed the dogs, let them play, and now I'm posting this. It seems that it is a lot later than 10pm though. I am off work tomorrow thankfully, however, tomorrow night I have to go back up to Petco to wash Major. Major is Johnny's dog. He's been staying at Mom's house though and I told Johnny that I would wash him before he comes to get him to take him home. I need to clean house too but I dont know if that will get done. Everytime I say I will, I never do. And then when I'm just sitting here and havent mentioned it...I get this drive to clean. Who knows lol. Anyways Grooming School is tiresome but I enjoy it. The time goes by faster too. Monday one of the blades got stuck on my clippers after I had finished using it on a poodle's feet. So I kept trying to get it off. well it came off but slipped in my hand. I reached for the poodles foot to make sure I got all the hair off of it and noticed my arm was bleeding. I cut my wrist with the blade and didnt even notice it. Other than that, there's been nothing out of the ordinary or bad going on. I think I'm going to make this entry short and write more tomorrow or another day when I'm not about to fall over. lol

There are 3 entries for 9-13-05. I am picking one that deals with a cool psychology type picture. If you want to see the other two entries then you'll have to go through archives to get to them.

Stitch goes to the Vet

Well, this week has been busy. First off I dont remember much of it except that I am sleeping more. <yawns> Secondly....Leroy is doing good. He has started peeing on the potty pad which is always good since he is 9months old and hasnt had any previous training in that area. I carried Stitch to work with me Wednesday because I closed. The whole night I got to play with him...we werent busy at all. All the dogs were done and out of there and the place was completely clean by 6pm. So I played with Stitch the whole night. I even had people see him through the streets and come in just to pet him. Everyone seems to love him. That night I gave him some of the treats we had up there. They are really hard bones but he seemed to like them. He's one of the few dogs that seems to like them. Thursday I carried him to work with me again and while he was doing #2 outside in the potty area I noticed he was having a hard time using the bathroom. He was in the position but nothing was coming out. Some stuff did come out. It was stringy and like diahhrea. Then he turned around and I noticed blood on his coat from using the bathroom. I went inside and talked to the groomers about it. We agreed to wait on taking him to the vet for a couple days to see if it happens again. I was gone most of Friday night because my sister Amanda got married and had her reception that night so I didnt get to keep a good eye on Stitch. Saturday I worked the morning Shift. We got a new girl named Tara in. She seems nice. But I got to semi-train her and we worked the morning shift together. I made $145.90 in commission that day which is really good considering this week I barely made a dime in commission totals. It makes up for it ya know? Well I got home and noticed that Stitch wasnt using the bathroom at all. All that was coming out was blood. After a bunch of phone calls to different people back and forth, I decided he needed to go to the vet. Mom took us up there and we had the vet look at him. They did a stool sample and all the got was blood. So they did xrays and everything. What it all boiled down to was those stupid treats at my work. The vet gave me some pills for Stitch, some prescription canned food, and something to help with the pooping. I couldnt feed him for 24 hrs (just ended, we got outta the vets office at 10pm last night) and I had to put all the water up in the house because he couldnt drink a lot of water. I have to keep him close for the next 3 days now (was 4 but todays almost over) which means he is going to work with me. The vet bill was over $200 which Mom paid. I'll pay her back for that little by little but I just had to make sure that Stitch was ok.More later :)

Wide Awake at 1:33AM

Hey Mr. DJ

Well it is 1:33AM right now and I am wide awake. I've been working a lot and so has Jme. Yesterday (Sunday), Jme, Dustin, and Brandy (Dustin's gf) went to Graceland. I had been 3 times when I was younger but not since I hit my teens. Jme had never been, although he's lived in this area for 15 yrs or so. So we went and had a good time. It is waaay too expensive though. Today (Monday) I went to work, worked, and came home. I was already planning on straightening up on the house while I drove home. I have this thing where I'm going to try to dress better and take better care of myself even if I am staying home all day. Maybe wear makeup starting out once a week and then progressing, and doing more laundry, dishes, cooking, housework stuff ya know? I'm not really good at anything anymore. I dont go to school other than fixing to "Officially" Start Grooming School. When I do that though, I wont be making commission till I graduate from it so thats going to lower my pay. I dont usually help out around the house, I just sit on my butt. I dont cook, dont clean. But thats going to change. I just sit around and Jme gets upset at times at me about that. But he has always been the one to cook and clean so its hard for me to get used to even trying. But I am trying. Anyways, back to my story. I pulled into my parking space when I got home today and there was  piece of paper on it. It was from the Townhome office letting us know of certain things. One of which is an inspection of the townhomes tomorrow (Tuesday, technically today) at 1pm. So I started cleaning. Now my list of what I cleaned? Yes I'm proud of it. I dont clean lol. So here is my list thus far:

In the Master Bedroom:

Swept, Picked Up Trash, Arranged Dirty Clothes, Picked up Dishes, Detailed it, Vaccuumed, Put Dog's Water In Bowls, and 1 Potty Pad

Master Bathroom:

Swept, Picked up trash, arranged dirty clothes, picked up dishes, detailed it, put dogs water bowl in there, mopped, and put toilet paper in it.

Gameroom:

Swept ,picked uptrash, arranged dirty clothes, picked up dishes, and vaccuumed.

Stairs:

Swept, picked up trash, arranged dirty clothes, picked up dishes, vaccuumed

Living Room:

Swept, picked up trash, arranged dirty clothes, picked up dishes, detailed, vaccuumed, put 1 potty pad down

Dining Room:

Swept, picked up trash, arranged dirty clothes, picked up dishes, detailed, vaccuumes, and 1 bowl of water for dogs.

Kitchen: Swept, picked up trash, arranged clothes, put dirty dishes in sink, detailed, mopped, 2 loads of dishes in dishwasher, organized the kitchen counters

Bottom Bathroom:

Same as Other Bathroom

Hallway:

Swept, picked up trash, arranged dirty clothes, vaccuumed

Spare Bedroom:

Swept, vaccuumed, picked up some trash, piled boxes in corner

So I think that I did a good job. I'm tired too :( But I'm not even gonna start complaigning lol. So I had this really cool quote in my previous entry (Remember what our ancestors said) along with a cool picture I took of myself (I put the makeup on me :D ) and a background I added to the picture. Man, ya gotta love photoshops. lol. Also, I dont know if you heard or not but Jme and I brought home a new family member last week as well. You can read about it in the entry titled "???Bringing Home Another One???."

Remember what our ancestors said

How can you buy the sky? How can you own the rain and the wind? My mother told me, Every part of this earth is sacred to our people. Every pine needle. Every sandy shore. Every mist in the dark woods. Every meadow and humming insect. All are holy in the memory of our people. My father said to me, I know the sap that courses through the trees as I know the blood that flows in my veins. We are part of the earth and it is part of us.

The perfumed flowers are our sisters. The bear, the great eagle, these are our brothers. The rocky crests, the meadows, the ponies -  all belong to the same family. The voice of my ancestors said to me, The shining water that moves in the streams and rivers is not simply water, but the blood of your grandfather's grandfather. Each ghostly reflection in the clear waters of the lakes tells of memories in the life of our people. The water's murmur is the voice of your great-great-grandmorther. The rivers are our brothers. They quench our thirst. They carry our canoes and fed our children. You must give to the rivers the kindness you would give to any brother.

The voice of my grandfather said to me, The air is precious. It shares its spirit with all the life it supports. The wind that gave me my first breath also received my last sigh. You must keep the land and air apart and sacred, as a place where one can go to taste the wind that is sweetened by the meadow flowers. When the last Red Man and Woman have vanished with their wilderness, and their memory is only the shadow of a cloud moving across the prairie, will the shores and the forest still be here? Will there be any of the spirit of my people left? My ancestors said to me, This we know: The earth does not belong to us. We belong to the earth.

The voice of my grandmother said to me, Teach your children what you have been taught. The earth is our mother. What befalls the earth befalls all the sons and daughters of the earth. Hear my voice and the voice of my ancestors. The destiny of your people is a mystery to us. What will happen when the buffalo are all slaughtered? The wild horses tamed? What will happen when the secret corners of the forest are heavy with the scent of many men? When the view of the ripe hills is blotted by talking wires? Where will the thicket be? Gone. Where will the eagle be? Gone! And what will happen when we say goodbye to the swift pony and the hunt? It will be the end of living and the beginning of survival.

This we know: All things are connected like the blood that unites us. We did not weave the web of life, We are merely a strand in it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. We love this earth as a newborn loves its mother's heartbeat. If we sell you our land, care for it as we have cared for it. Hold in your mind the memory of the land as it is when you receive it. Preserve the land and the air and the rivers for  your children's children and love it as we have loved it.

???Bringing Home Another One???

Before I start off on this entry I want to refer to a serious note. I posted the news article in my last entry, Oklahoma Puppy Mill Closed Down. It made me cry. I guess because I can visualize what those people looked at as they rescued those dogs.

Now onto the pictures. The first two are of Stitch . He just hopped into the laundry basket and laid down as Jme did laundry lol. So Jme went and got the camera and took these two pictures for your viewing pleasure :).

Ok...the next 4 pictures are of Leroy's Jailhouse Rock.
I work at a grooming salone and my manager has a huge piece of property and had been breeding pomeranians, yorkies, and schnauzers since I dont know when. Its been a long time. So when people come in that say they are breeders but dont know certain things, she talks to them, answers their questions, and stuff. But afterwards she always talks to the grooming staff about how those people treat their dogs. She has bought 2 kennels worth of dogs from 2 different people b/c they didnt treat their dogs right. There is 1 woman who breeds pomeranians that brings her dogs in there. But when they arent there and they are at her house, she keeps them in cages....days at a time. She doesnt socialize them or anything. They live in a cage. Well my first time meeting her was yesterday. She brought in a red pomeranian who had to be shaved due to matts and a black and white parti male who had mats in him as well. They pooped in their kennel and my manager said that was the first time they had prolly been taken out of their kennels at that lady's house since friday or so. I fell in love with the parti pom though. I think it was one of those broken souls that you can see, but you also see that it is still savable type of situations. I jokingly told th lady i wanted him, and she asked to confirm it. I asked if he was free and she said to make an offer. So I offered $100 (jokingly...like i'd get a parti pom with papers for $100). She asked if i had it on me and I said no. She said I could write her a check for the 9month old parti pom for $150 and he was mine..paperwork and all. So I told her I would think about it. She let me take him home to see how he reacted with my other 2 poms. As soon as we got him home he acted like he had died and gone to pommy heaven. He came out of his shell, although he still cowered when you touched him. Today I carried him back to work and dematted him. Saved his coat. He also got a free handscissor. My manager said that she was glad he was going to have a good home. So I wrote the lady a check and she's going to bring the papers later on. I know its bad to buy a dog from a bad breeder that doesnt treat their animals right. But I couldnt let him go back. And if that meant paying $150 to save him and get him out of his 9months thus far living in a cage stage of his life...and to give him 2 playmates (4 if u count the cat and ferret which do play with the poms) then I had to. Last night he slept in our bed (although not potty trained, he didnt use it in our bed). But I couldnt let him go back ya know? could ya'll have let him go back? But that is how we got Leroy. He is doing great here.

Also yesterday Jme cleaned house while I was at work. He came to pick me up and left  Lilo s and Stitch running around in the house. We came home and there was diahrrea on the floor. We didnt know which one did it so I just cleaned it up. The three dogs were playing in the living room and I smelt something. Same stuff...but which dog. Well, we always put the dogs up in their kennels (Lilo in the bathroom) to eat and when we arent home. We do it to eat because they all eat a different type of food. Lilo eats Science Diet Puppy Small Bites b/c she is only 6 months old. Stitch eats Science Diet Lamb & Rice Meal, and we dont know what Leroy was fed so we put him on Beneful and are gradually switching him to the same type of food as Stitch. Well none of the dogs ate much yesterday or today for that matter. But when I went to check on Lilo there was huge amounts of diahrrea on the floor. I cleaned it up but now we knew who had the upset stomach. Well she did it 3 more times that night. Then today she did it 2 more times. I took her to Petco to ask advice and they said that she prolly ate something that didnt agree (1 of which would b the mattress). So to give her pepto bismol. All the dogs already have a vet appt for Saturday at my work. So if she's not better by then then Ill take her to a different vet. But hopefully she'll be better. She acts fine and I think that the heat is what makes them not eat so much. We keep our thermometer on a set temp all year but the hotness outside raises the temperature in the house. Well, I think I'm going to get off for the night. I got some more stuff to clean up.

Dont forget to check out what I wrote about 1 year ago today. It's our honeymoon pictures!!!! Man, did we have a great time.
