Publishing From Beta Doesn't Send Alerts
So I made this great big fat post last night for you guys, all about how to embed YouTube video in your blogs ... a real thing of beauty, if you'll indulge my immodesty.
But: I published it from the BETA version of AOL Journals. And apparently, when you publish to your journal from Beta, no alerts get sent out.
So -- just know that if you do publish from Beta to your blogs, your alerts will not trigger. And please, scroll down to my previous post. You'll learn how embed cool videos right into your post and be about 15 cuddles closer towards fully embracing multimedia as an art form.
UPDATE: Journals Editor Joe has just popped around to my desk with this programming hint: Say you do make a video post, or any post using Beta features in Journals. Go ahead and make the post itself in your normal production journal, which will trigger your alert. Then, QUICKLY switch to Beta and add in the video code, or whatever Beta features you like, and re-save. For all but the most trigger-happy alerts clickers, your post will look completely perfect, and the previously triggered alert will take people straight to it.

I don't fool with alerts. I am using Newsgator. i only get alerts for private journals.

Did not realize that alerts weren't sent. Can click send alerts from beta version?
