Hearing My Maker -- Heartless Bastards
Whitney Cerak Posts to Family's Blog

You may have heard the story of Whitney Cerak, the college student thought dead after a terrible van crash. For five weeks her family mourned for her, annd during those five weeks another family sat by her bedside while she was in a coma, praying that she would make it out. The girl made it out of the coma, but it wasn't that prayerful family's daughter. Their daughter, Laura VanRyn, died five weeks prior and had been buried and mourned as Whitney Cerak.
Real life outweirds fiction at every turn. Scriptwriters get fired every week for coming up with stuff like this.
While the Ceraks want no interviews or intrusions from the media while Whitney recovers, we're all welcome to track her progress through the family's blog. This weekend, Whitney herself posted to her family's blog.
Blogs are revolutionizing communication in ways that extend far beyond the gossip column. People can use them to work through some incredibly tough stuff, simultaneously giving the world news while preserving their privacy. Joe, Jamie, myself, and AOL at large all found it incredibly therapeutic to write about the sudden loss of our friend, mentor, and former boss Bob ... and it helped get the word out to family and friends how much he was loved and missed.
On the receiving end, people like you and me can sit here at our desks, on our lunch breaks or between meetings and read a little something inspiring about the triumph of medical technology, religious faith and the human spirit.
Have you used your blog to work through some tough stuff? Do you have any particularly therapeutic entries, or have you found any out there that have touched you? If you're so inclined, please leave a link to your entries or any that have helped you out in the comments section

Greetings of love filled with the purest wishes for all involved in this scene of the drama of life. May the light of peace be with all of you and bring acceptance and understanding to everyone's life.
I have not read all the articles referring to this case but I felt the urge to connect as I wonder if this human error is happening more than we ever know. This tragedy seems like a repetition of another case that happened about 1980 in Annandale, Virginia.
Respectfully yours, Providence -

You are a true miracle that God has given a second chance in life to! Not many people get that chance, I am so glad that he chose you because you are a true follower of God! You light shines in your smile and I just know that you are really doing great work for the Lord!
I could hardly get through the first pages of your book without crying and I could hardly put the book down. The reason I couldn't stop crying, was that I have a son that is almost 17 and anything can happen when he leaves us! I guess that I was thinking, I just couldn't keep it together if something happened but I know that I can do anything with Christ at my side! I have known that all long and He has always been with me through all the deaths that our family has been through! Life goes on but when someone you are really close to and love, you think that the world should stop and take notice that you have lost someone very dear and that everyone should stop what they are doing and take notice! I don't think I could ever truly say I know what your family went through or the Van Ryn's but I hope if something ever did happen that would take my son or my husband, or even my Dad, that I can stand tall and Praise God Still like you all did!
So Whitney continue to be that bright star for Christ! I pray that you, your family, and the Van Ryn, are doing well!
Your sister in Christ
Carla
