Time Management for Bloggers

Managing your time is hard. Real hard. Managing your time as a blogger is even harder. The entire Internet is competing for your attention with every click of the mouse, and there's always something fascinating right around the corner. It's so much easier to consume content than produce it, even if blogging is your passion.

You know how it is. You log in to knock out a quick post, and the next thing you know, it's three a.m., you've bought three T-shirts, seen a couple movie trailers and made a friend in Iceland. It's the digital equivalent of stepping out for a quart of milk and ending up hung over and homeless on the streets of Vegas a week later.

About.com's got a pretty useful article up about time management for bloggers. Actually, to say it's useful stuff would be a drastic understatement. Forget bookmarking it. I'm thinking of tattooing it upside down on my chest for easy reference.

How do you make sure you get your blogging done? Do you have any tricks or tips to share?

I know I am queen (b) of not managing my blogging time. I am ALWAYS behind on alerts. I have way too many.  One time I was unable to blog for 4 or 5 days and had nearly 800 emails and most were alerts.  Arrrgh! And I am a stay at home wife. I don't what people do who work. I have to go read that article.  Right now.

I usually blog at odd times, like when my friends are at work . Sometimes if I can't sleep, I blog at 3am,when most of my friends are alseep. I also put up my away message when I blog , so people know what I am doing and that ususally it is not that long before I am done.... In the away message I ask that if it is "house burning down important" to send me an e~mail. Tawnya
