Feeling Ecstatic

Miriam got out to of the NICU today! She's upstairs with her momma, and her big brother Mitchell got to meet her. Mitchell was great with her. He touched her very gently, and kept saying "baby."

Feeling Ecstatic

Miriam (we decided to go with the traditional spelling after all) is still in the NICU tonight. They're gradually increasing the amount of formula she drinks at each feeding, while decreasing the amount of her Dextrose IV. At every feeding she's eaten like a champ. Julie and I have both gotten to feed her, and she's taken to the breast a couple of times, latching on and sucking well, although nothing's coming out yet.

We're hopeful that she'll be able to come upstairs with Julie by tomorrow afternoon.

Feeling Ecstatic

Myriam Margalit was born at 11:16 this morning. 6 lbs, 11 oz, 20 1/2 inches. Mother and baby are doing fine.

Myriam is in the NICU for a little while while she gets her blood glucose stabilized, and her respiration improves. We hope she'll be able to be with Momma upstairs tomorrow.

Many thanks to Dr. Khoury, and all the other doctors and nurses and staff who have been so wonderful to my wife, daughter and myself.

Feeling Anxious
Tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM, Julie and I leave for the hospital. At 11:00 she goes into surgery. By noon, I'll have a daughter, and Mitchell will have a sister.

It all sounds so simple, doesn't it?

Cosmic Encounters is one of my favorite games of all time. It's a sort of board game/card game hybrid, and has been through several incarnations.

It's now available as an on-line game. There's a free version where you get to play one of six alien types. The pay version adds a bunch more aliens and other features.

The game play can be a little sluggish at times, but I've been enjoying it.

Well, In the last week I've had no urge to buy anything else from BuyMusic. I guess that's a pretty good indication that their business/licensing model doesn't work for me.

If  you're not watching The Amazing Race you're missing the best reality show on TV. Ok, that's not saying much. But it's one of the best shows on TV, period.

And if you're not reading Television Without Pity's recaps of The Amazing Race, you're missing an integral part of the whole TAR experience.

Unfortunately, my Rassin'- cable company doesn't offer CBS in HD yet. It is really the perfect High Definition show.
