Alan Moore Knows the Score
Once again they're trying to make a movie out of Watchmen. A patently bad idea.
A friend of mine suggested that if you wanted to adopt Watchmen to another medium, it should become a filmstrip. Just show the illustrations, and have actors dramatise the voices.
(I assume by now schools don't use filmstrips anymore. It's probably all videos. How old do you have to be to remember the "beeep" that signaled a frame change? Or to have learned how to load a film projector?)

OK, I guess AOL Journals doesn't grok HTML. :-/

I posted some of my own ideas about this at <a href="http://mg.blogs.com/widdershi
ns/2003/07/watchmen.html">widdershins</a>. Bottom line: movie can't be as great as original, but could still be decent. It also occurs to me that scripts are commissioned all the time without the movie ever actually being made, so don't hold your breath. The story itself is awfully grim and has very little sequel-potential -- not exactly big selling points.
