Everybody Must Get Stoned (Bob Dylan)

I think for now at least doubling the medication will help.  If not, I won't care.  It is going to take a bit to get used to that much more medication.  But I sure felt good yesterday p./m. and last night after I started.  Good thing I'm not drivcing anywhere today and have enough stuff to last until the weather mess is over.  I'm about to take another oxycontin (10 mg) and I'll feel good again.  At least after the Senna works.

I'd forgotten the Dylan music! Thanks for the laugh, Ellen.

What a fabulous idea for you to think of everything and have Golden58 as your message giver for us. I really appreciate it. It's also nice to see that you and Golden are friends from way back when.

I didn't know that there was a "hospice facility" to have when you need it. See, how you show us the way, or at least those of us who don't know much! That would be me.

Hoping you will get un-stoned and talk to us soon. Take care.

I hope you get to go home soon and they can find out where your pain is coming from.  I can't believe you might be going back to your own place!  That's freakin' amazing!

The Lord is working in your life.  He is so good!

I continue to lift you up in prayer by name everyday.

Please keep us informed on your progress and I hope you rest comfortably tonite.

    Much love, Tammy

Thank you for the update.  My prayers are with her.  I wrote her for the second time on this very line (first message).  I have been following her for months.  I do not have ovarian cancer but a few months ago there was some concern so I hit the web.  Believe it or not her blog was the most honest of all out there.  When I got my good news I couldn't turn her off.  Now I think of her many times during the day.  My prayers are that she is without pain.  I am sure I am not the only lurker out there so please let her know there are many of us here thinking and praying for her.  -

    UPDATE  December 4, 2007 5:12 pm CST

I spoke with Ellen around 4:00 pm and have good news--it appears that Ellen will be discharged from the hospicecare facility and will be coming home to her apartment!  She didn't know yet exactly when she'll be discharged (could be tomorrow or could be in another day or two--she just doesn't know yet), but things have definitely taken a turn for the better and she doesn't need to stay there.  In fact, she has a very interesting experience to tell you about---but I will not steal her thunder and will let her relate it in her own way after she gets back home and has access to her computer.  If you've been holding your breath as I think I have most of this afternoon, we can all breathe easy again.   That's all for now.

    UPDATE - DECEMBER 4, 2007  12:24 pm CST

For anyone who might check on Ellen's status, I would like to update you on her condition.  I am, by the way, a long-time friend of Ellen's----I've known her and enjoyed her friendship since the late 1960s when we were both students in the Business Education program of a local college.  I am unable to write a separate ENTRY on Ellen's diary---AOL does not, of course, allow that kind of access so I have to rely on a comment and hope that people will see it.  I just spoke with Ellen about 20 minutes ago and she is at the nearby hospicecare facility on what we hope will be a temporary basis before she'll be able to go back to her apartment.  She was in extreme discomfort last evening, spoke with a CNA at the facility where she lives, and after checking with hospicecare (who oversees her care), she was transferred to the hospicecare facility last night in order to determine what is causing the pain in the region of the gallbladder and to get her on stronger pain medication.  She's resting comfortably and in good spirits, albeit somewhat drowsy as one would expect from the new medication.   She does not have her computer so can't update her blog.  Right now it's just a matter of waiting for information on what the cause of this newer and severe pain is.  She has indicated she'll call me as she can, but wants to simply rest right now.  Hope this helps in case any of you who comment and/or check on her here are concerned.  I'll try to update as I hear more information from her that she feels comfortable sharing.   I can only end by saying that she's in my prayers for this latest challenge to get sorted out and hopefully for her to return back to her own place in a few days.    My AOL screen name is goldens58.
