Over the years I have received many "False Positives," in photography from other investigators and the public in general. A "False Positive" can happen to the best of us. Many of the photos I receive are from the lack of knowledge, but occasionally they are also from pranksters. I am currently working on a page for "False Positives," but for today I thought I would give you a small preview of what I am working on.

Here are a few examples of "False Positives":

This is the most common mistake I keep receiving from investigators. It is night shot shots. Unless you are in a completely darkened area where there is no chance of electrical interference and your camera is stationary, the night shot feature is pretty much useless. Disagree with me? Cut off the lights in a room, but leave on a PC, TV, ....  then shoot on night shot. This picture was shot tonight in front of my home with our Halloween lights on.

I have had two different paranormal groups tell me this was a fairy. This is not a fairy anymore than any of the other fly and mosquito pictures you are seeing all over the net are. If you do not believe me go outside during the summer months at night and shoot around the bushes in your yard. These sort of photos are simply bugs.

This is not a demonic infestation of orbs. It is my son in the forest in the rain. Notice how different rain orbs look from well defined orbs.

Nope, not orbs again, but a fine mist of rain on the camera lens.

This is not a vortex, or anything else other than pampas grass in a flash.

This is not a vortex. It is a spiders web.
