American Youth Cry Out!

Note: This article is being re circulated since the last shooting. What an important issue this is. All Christians should pray for guidance on how they might help.
_____________________________________________________

Todays headlines are very troubling. Another American youth decides to shoot people down for no apparent reason. This has become old news. Seems that everywhere America's youth are troubled to the point of no return.

Christian author, Ellen White has pointed out; "Aliens from God and outcasts from society, these poor souls feel that they are without hope either for this life or for the life to come. The hearts of parents are broken. Men speak of these erring ones as hopeless, but God looks upon them with pitying tenderness. He understands all the circumstances that have led them to fall under temptation. This is a class that demands labor." T6, p.254,255

When we see what is on our modern Televisions we see; "Babylon 5" and "American Idol". We have taught our youth to embrace the idea of Babylonian Oneness, a false unity. We have set our youth to look to "idols". Instead of finding out that they are already special, we teach our youth to embrace an idol, a human idol. How sad.

We have taught our youth to turn away from their Creator by teaching evolution.

"Men in their blindness boast of wonderful progress and enlightenment; but to the eye of Omniscience are revealed the inward guilt and depravity." Ellen G. White T6,p.14,15

One problem is that todays youth are taught that "true" love has no boundaries. This anarchy love is from the occult law; "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law". This false idea is a Babylonian foundation. It is taught in the Wica movement and New Age philosophies of today.

This so called "freedom" has created an insane youth. Actually, true love has boundaries, it is surrounded by the Commandments of God!

"It is not hardship, toil, or poverty that degrades humanity; it is sin, the transgression of God's law. The efforts put forth to rescue the outcast and degraded will be of no avail unless the claims of the law of God and need of loyalty to Him are impressed on the mind and heart." T6,p.259 Ellen G. White

We must understand that people are crying out for a love with boundaries! They may not say it because of what they have been taught. The truth is, it is time for the church to teach the law of God to our youth in the true love of Jesus Christ!

"The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.......The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes." "By the word of Thy lips," says the Psalmist, "I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. " Psalms 19:7,8; 17:4

So true love has around it a "wall of protection", the Commandments of God. False love, the one destroying this nation, is that of anarchy!

May God call those who hear to labor in this work of re-education.

The Second Coming or cookies & cake?

Thank you for your courage. I thought that I would respond to
your "easy going" approach to prophecy and to church attendance.
One thing you might consider is the fact that Christ has one church. Just
one! And another thought is the fact that it keeps the commandments
of God. [see Revelation 14:12].

To say that we should approach the second coming with statements like, "well, whatever floats your boat" seems to me like an approach that makes the second coming sound like cookies and cake.

The second coming is a serious matter. It is the end of time. God
does have an organization that has the "gift of prophecy", pastors, teachers,
and the such. It is not like Jesus told us; "Stay home and eat popcorn, you
know, whatever floats your boat."

I do not mean to sound harsh but in Noah's day only one boat was
floating. Those who sat around and ate popcorn had a rude awakening.

Is all sickness from sin?

Christian author Ellen G. White once wrote:

"It is a sin to be sick; for all sickness is the result of transgression" (Counsels on
Health, p. 37).

What does this mean? Does it mean that if you are sick it is because you sinned? If that were true everybody would be physically always sick. We are all "spiritually sick" because of sin and it is true that some sins can bring on physical illness such as sins that abuse our bodies [doing drugs, smoking, liquor, etc].

Mostly it is a sin to be "sick" spiritually . So get Jesus and get Life!

"All sickness" is from the first act of sin..from Adam and Eve's sin. Their sin shows where all sickness stems from. Sickness in it's ultimate sense was birthed by and through sin. Now, does that mean that if a baby get's sick and dies it was from a personal sin that the baby committed? Nope.

Some get sick simply because of inherited sin. Thus, all sickness is the result of transgression. [direct or inderect].

It was never God's intent that people get sick and die. Satan is now alowed to use sickness on others because sickness is a part of "Satan's world". But God has proven that His people trust in Him and will thus see Him again in their new bodies!

"So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful
sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. ... In all this, Job did not sin" (Job 2:7, 10).

Bad theology of Steve Rudd

Dear Steve Rudd,

I [the founder and speaker for "The Adventist Way of Life"] have visited your web pages and links. Even sunday keeping Christians that have reviewed your site realize that you have taken many Scriptures out of context. Your theology such as your work on Colossians 2:13,14 where you comment that these Scriptures have destroyed the 4th Commandment by "nailing it to the cross" are strange and you have taken Scripture grossly out of context.

These Scriptures refer to our sin record..which Jesus nailed to the cross. Jesus never destroyed His moral law at the cross. Mr. Rudd, I invite you to appear on TAWOL Radio with me to publicaly discuss your theology with True Adventist Chriatians. Won't you share?

Tuff Ellen White statements looked at!

Introduction: Among the 100,000 pages of Ellen G. White's writings, some have pointed to several statements that are difficult to understand. A few of these statements are perplexing only because they have been lifted from their immediate contexts. Other statements pose problems for those who believe God's messengers are infallible, their predictions unalterable, and that their words and expressions are communicated verbatim by the Holy Spirit. Seventh-day Adventists believe that such views are incompatible with what is observed in Scripture. They are certainly counter to what Ellen White claimed for either herself or her writings. One may also find statements that seem to defy a ready explanation or lack current scientific confirmation. Regarding such, we are reminded of the following statement concerning supposed difficulties in the Scriptures:

"While God has given ample evidence for faith, He will never remove all excuse for unbelief. All who look for hooks to hang their doubts upon will find them. And those who refuse to accept and obey God's Word until every objection has been removed, and there is no longer an opportunity for doubt, will never come to the light" (The Great Controversy, p. 527).

Statements Taken Out of Context

"Those who accept the Saviour, however sincere their conversion, should never be taught to say or to feel that they are saved."

A closer look at Ellen G. White's cautions regarding this subject reveals that, in context, she is not speaking against the certainty of a believer's present standing with God. She is warning against the presumptuous "once saved, always saved" teaching of eternal security--those who claim "I am saved" while continuing to transgress the law of God. Here is her full statement:

"Peter's fall was not instantaneous, but gradual. Self-confidence led him to the belief that he was saved, and step after step was taken in the downward path, until he could deny his Master. Never can we safely put confidence in self or feel, this side of heaven, that we are secure against temptation. Those who accept the Saviour, however sincere their conversion, should never be taught to say or to feel that they are saved. This is misleading. Everyone should be taught to cherish hope and faith; but even when we give ourselves to Christ and know that He accepts us, we are not beyond the reach of temptation. God's Word declares, 'Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried' (Dan. 12:10). Only he who endures the trial will receive the crown of life (James 1:12)" (Christ's Object Lessons, p. 155, emphasis supplied).

That Ellen White understood the proper basis for true Christian assurance is evidenced by the following remark she made before the church's General Conference session:

"Each one of you may know for yourself that you have a living Saviour, that He is your helper and your God. You need not stand where you say, 'I do not know whether I am saved.' Do you believe in Christ as your personal Saviour? If you do, then rejoice" (General Conference Bulletin, April 10, 1901).

To a woman who was struggling with doubts Ellen White wrote:

"The message from God to me for you is 'Him that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out' (John 6:37). If you have nothing else to plead before God but this one promise from your Lord and Saviour, you have the assurance that you will never, never be turned away. It may seem to you that you are hanging upon a single promise, but appropriate that one promise, and it will open to you the whole treasure house of the riches of the grace of Christ. Cling to that promise and you are safe. 'Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out.' Present this assurance to Jesus, and you are as safe as though inside the city of God" (Manuscript Releases, vol. 10, p. 175).

"I do not claim to be a prophetess."

Why does the Seventh-day Adventist church believe that Ellen G. White received the gift of prophecy when she said that she did not claim to be a prophetess? The misuse often made of this Ellen White statement is an illustration of the importance of proper context. Here, in her own words, is what Ellen White did and did not mean by her statement:

"Some have stumbled over the fact that I said I did not claim to be a prophet; and they have asked, Why is this?

"I have had no claims to make, only that I am instructed that I am the Lord's messenger; that He called me in my youth to be His messenger, to receive His word, and to give a clear and decided message in the name of the Lord Jesus.

"Early in my youth I was asked several times, Are you a prophet? I have ever responded, I am the Lord's messenger. I know that many have called me a prophet, but I have made no claim to this title. My Saviour declared me to be His messenger. 'Your work,' He instructed me, 'is to bear My word. Strange things will arise, and in your youth I set you apart to bear the message to the erring ones, to carry the word before unbelievers, and with pen and voice to reprove from the Word actions that are not right. Exhort from the Word. I will make My Word open to you. It shall not be as a strange language. In the true eloquence of simplicity, with voice and pen, the messages that I give shall be heard from one who has never learned in the schools. My Spirit and My power shall be with you.' . . .

"Why have I not claimed to be a prophet?--Because in these days many who boldly claim that they are prophets are a reproach to the cause of Christ; and because my work includes much more than the word 'prophet' signifies. . . .

"To claim to be a prophetess is something that I have never done. If others call me by that name, I have no controversy with them. But my work has covered so many lines that I cannot call myself other than a messenger, sent to bear a message from the Lord to His people, and to take up work in any line that He points out.

"When I was last in Battle Creek, I said before a large congregation that I did not claim to be a prophetess. Twice I referred to this matter, intending each time to make the statement, 'I do not claim to be a prophetess.' If I spoke otherwise than this, let all now understand that what I had in mind to say was that I do not claim the title of prophet or prophetess" (Review and Herald, July 26, 1906, reprinted in Selected Messages, book 1, pp. 31-35).

"During the discourse, I said that I did not claim to be a prophetess. Some were surprised at this statement, and as much is being said in regard to it, I will make an explanation. Others have called me a prophetess, but I have never assumed that title. I have not felt that it was my duty thus to designate myself. Those who boldly assume that they are prophets in this our day are often a reproach to the cause of Christ.

"My work includes much more than this name signifies. I regard myself as a messenger, entrusted by the Lord with messages for His people" (Letter 55, 1905; quoted in Selected Messages, book 1, pp. 35, 36).

Unusual Statements Regarding Scientific Issues

Amalgamation of man and beast

Some have charged that Ellen White wrote in 1864 (and republished in 1870) that humans once cohabited with animals and that their offspring produced certain races that exist today. The statement reads: "But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere. God purposed to destroy by a flood that powerful, long-lived race that had corrupted their ways before Him." [1]

No dictionary has ever used "amalgamation" to describe the cohabitation of man with beast. The primary use of the word describes the fusion of metals, the union of different elements such as in making tooth cements. Nineteenth-century usage included the mixing of diverse races.

Granted, her statement could appear ambiguous: Does she mean "amalgamation of man with beast" or "amalgamation of man and of beast"? Often, repetition of the preposition is omitted in similar construction. [2]

On other occasions, when Mrs. White used the word "amalgamation," she used it metaphorically, comparing faithful believers and worldlings. [3] She also used it to describe the origin of poisonous plants and other irregularities in the biological world: "Christ never planted the seeds of death in the system. Satan planted these seeds when he tempted Adam to eat of the tree of knowledge which meant disobedience to God. Not one noxious plant was placed in the Lord's great garden, but after Adam and Eve sinned, poisonous herbs sprang up. . . . All tares are sown by the evil one. Every noxious herb is of his sowing, and by his ingenious methods of amalgamation he has corrupted the earth with tares." [4]

Recognizing that Satan has been an active agent in the corrupting of God's plan for man, beast, plants, etc., we can better understand what Ellen White may have meant when she described the results of amalgamation. That which "defaced the image of God" in man and that which "confused the species [of animals]" has been the handiwork of Satan with the cooperation of humans. Such "amalgamation of man and [of] beast, as may be seen in the almost endless varieties of species of animals, and in certain races of men," becomes understandable.

Mrs. White never hinted of subhuman beings or any kind of hybrid animal-human relationship. She did speak of "species of animals" and "races of men" but not any kind of amalgam of animals with human beings.

We recognize, however, that serious students of Ellen White's writings differ on what she meant by "amalgamation." "The burden of proof rests on those who affirm that Mrs. White gave a new and alien meaning to the term." [5]

Dirk Anderson..his hatred!

Many people have written me about the webiste ellenwhiteexposed.com. It's founder is a man named Dirk Anderson. He claims that he along with his "sect" have "studied their way out of the Seventh Day Adventist Church". They fight against true Sabbath keepers. They pick on Ellen White instead of looking into the Bible regarding what we as Adventist Christians believe.

Mr. Anderson has taken Ellen White's writtings out of context..mixed some of her writings with others to make her say what he and his group wants to hear. Why? Who really now's why he and his sect have such hatred toward loving Christian Adventists. I have sent him  email's to take on his claims regarding Ellen White publicaly on TAWOL radio..but he has never responded. Seems he and his group feel safe behind the fence "throwing stones".

My friend and brother in Christ Jesus, Edwin Cotto [founder of "The Adventist Defense League"] has done and is doing a great job in exposing Mr. Andersons one sided parade. I too [Mr. Eric W. King - founder of "The Adventist Way of Life"] will continue to make myself available for those who wish to correspond regarding the lies of Mr. Anderson.

We here will continue to pray for Mr. Dick Anderson and his cult.

Who's day?

Many Christians today have told me things like; "I keep MY Sabbath on Sunday."..."I give ONE DAY IN SEVEN to the Lord." .."It DOES NOT MATTER what day you want to keep "the" Sabbath."

I am writing this article to show how ridiculous these statements really are. We read in the book of Genesis that God "blessed" the Seventh Day [Saturday] and He "sanctified" the Seventh Day. This is why the Sabbath is called, "the Lord's Day". Truly, the Sabbath was created by the Lord and it is a specific day, one that was "set apart" [sanctified] and also "blessed" [made holy].

So when people say I keep "a" sabbath when I so choose, they are certainly not keeping "the Lord's Day" but they are keeping "their day". And then to say that "it really does not matter what day" means that God is a liar because God made the "seventh day" His holy Sabbath Day.

The Bible proclaims that "the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God". [Exodus 20:10] It is not "the sabbath of Eric" or "my sabbath is sunday". You see what I mean?

This whole subject may not seem to be that big of a deal to most but here are the facts; We serve a God of specifics! A God of order! If people can change any one of the Ten Commandments on a whim just look at the confusion we would have. Is not all this confusion already here? Look at all the denominations who follow such mixed-up teachings.

I challenege you today...search the Scriptures. Either believe that God says what He means and means what He says or we serve a wishy-washy God.

May God show you the Truth through His Word alone!

Don't stop here! Continue to truly understand the Sabbath issue!

Biblical thought.......

The immutable Ten Commandments keeps us in a healthy relationship with God. In our breaking them we realize that we need a "doctor". Without an unchangeable law we will always look for truth in something besides Jesus. Think about it!

Bent doctrines of Wayne Bent

Wow! Yet another sad story for the Christian world, especially those in the Seventh Day Adventist Church who truly love the Lord. It seems that cult after cult is appearing in these last days just as our Lord predicted. It seems that Satan is truly "wroth with the woman" and is going forth to "make war with the remnant of her seed." [Revelation 12:17]

I bring to the churches attention yet another false ministry. There are currently about 70 people being decieved by a plain and bent man named, Wayne Bent. This man currently calls himself "Michael Travesser". He claims to be Jesus Christ..or at least His spokesmen. He chose the name "Michael Travesser" in reference to the geographical area where, he claims, God led him and his group. He is referring to Travesser Park in Northeastern New Mexico, where Strong City settled in the Spring of 2000.

In the 80's he pastored a Seventh Day Adventist Church and finally left the church because they rejected his lies and Satanic doctrines. He was able to convince a small blind and deceived group to follow him into the "lake of fire". He currently is still teaching and there have been interviews and documentaries  made regarding him and his false gospel.

In 1987 the true Seventh Day Adventist Church had enough of Mr. Bent. This poor soul has taught the grand mistake that all off-shoot Adventist groups begin to teach. They start with the lie that Christ's true church can "fall". Yet Jesus said that He would build His church and that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it!

Whats wrong with calling God's church "babylon"? This basically amounts to calling God's church the "Church of Satan". This is the unfortunate mistake that many misinformed Adventists fall into. This is the same mistake that the CSDA group made and got them into the mess their in today.

This is the same mistake that starts almost all the Adventist Cults. Ellen G. White saw a tendency of fanatacism and false excitement demonstrated shortly after the "Great Disappointment" of 1844. This lead her to write out against this fanatacism and the movements it generated.

She also warned in her writings that some people would set out to look for "something strange" and or "exciting" in some new found doctrine. With this information she warned that they will cause a division in the church, or at least try to. Ellen White clearly stated that the true Seventh Day Adventist Church cannever be called "Babylon" [a phrase of the false church]. She did say that the Church leadership of a certain time was in danger of being called a "sister" [not daughter] of fallen apostate Babylon.

So if she said that the SDA Church could never be called Babylon but that some of it's leadership could, would, and did fall into apostasy we are talking about apostasy and not Babylon. Wow! Seems simple. Any apostate can be likened to "babylonian". This is why Sister White pointed out the danger of becoming like a "sister" to but not a "daughter" of spiritual Babylon. In other words, some SDA local churches and their leadership would completely "fall asleep", become the Laodiceans in practice and worship. Jesus said that the wheat and the tares would grow together, in the Church He said He built and that would never fall. Never did Jesus call His own Church "Babylon the Great" and neither did Ellen White!

She agrees with the Bible and further states that the entire world and Satan will have his final conflict with "Seventh Day Adventists", not "creation" or "davidian" Seventh Day Adventist Christians and most certainly not Mr. Bent "out of shape". [see TM, p.37] [Oh, and not with "Presents of God" people either.]

Though local churches have their problems because of "Babylonian" influences this does not make Christ's church "babylon". All local Christian churches have their problems...but they are not the "harlot" church. They could only become a Babylonian church in the "sister" sense, but never collectively a "daughter of the harlot".

As I said before, I will state again, God's church will have true believers and false believers in it up until the Second Coming of Christ. [Laodicean church: Rev. 3:14-22] But no Christian has the authority or the right or the power to judge in the sense of separating the "wheat" from the "tares". This is the work of Jesus Christ and His angels! [Matthew 24:31] These false movements claim to be full of wheat only, if not they claim that there is a "remnant" within the Remnant. Are we confused yet?

Jesus informs us that when the "purification" of the Church of God begins, He will send His angels to separate the "wheat" from the "chaff". He will not send "independent ministries" to do the separating. So those who start "new movements", and claim that there is a "remnant" within the Remnant are liars! Plain and simple! The true Seventh Day Adventist Church has missionaries all over the world and hospitals healing the sick and hurting. None of these "off-shoot" groups have any Biblical authority or "good fruit doctrine" for their claims or existance. We pray for them.

Ellen White stated that the church may appear to be falling through all this confusion but that it will not fall! No doubt that their are spiritual "babylonians" or "tares" within the true church. But the true SDA Church is still the true church.

Well, I suppose if our true Lord prolongs His second coming people will be visiting the grave of Mr. Bent and others only after it is too late. He will leave this world like all other cult leaders, alone and deceived. Unfortunately Mr. Bent may take others with him in his deception. If you are a member of the Bent Group please listen, come out of Babylon! Come home to mother..the true Church!

May God help His people.

"Great swelling words!"

In the second letter of Peter found in the New Testament we find some very important information regarding false teachers. Many Christians today have not really studied their own Bibles. If they have most have only approached the study of it from one or two points of view. Mostly an "evangelical" popular view or "baptist/calvinistic" type view. These have been the popular views.

Thus they may only have become grounded on one popular modern view of Christianity without feeling the need to go deeper. These students can easily fall prey to false movements. The Bible warns us about false teachers. Starting in 2 Peter 2:18 we read:

"For when they [false teachers] speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error."

Here Peter tells us that these false teachers speak "boastful words" [swelling words] by appealing to the lustful desires of human sinful nature. Here is described a false group of teachers who promise worldly glory. A regular teaching today within Pentecostal and Charismatic churches and ministries that compares to these false teachings that Peter is describing is the modern teaching that God wants all Christians to be financially wealthy. It seems that these false Christians also believed that to be "free from God's law" ment that they could break God's law. They thought that to be "not under law" ment that they were free from the moral restraint of God's law.

What does "free from the law" really mean? It simply means that Jesus Christ set us free from the guilt of the law. The law causes guilt because we cannot perfectly keep it. Jesus set us free from the "condemnation of the law" but Jesus never gave us license to break the moral standard.

Peter goes on in his explaination of the false teachers:

"While they promise them liberty [freedom], they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought to bondage." [2 Peter 2:19]

Here Peter suggests that those who do not want to be guided by God's moral standard inevitably get caught in sin and the bondage of it's grip. They become caught in the slavery of "self". True freedom from sin involves joyful "slavery" [service] to God. [see Romans 6:15-18] False teachers delight in making up their own rules to live by. To them "self" must always "feel good" and be "glorified".

It is easy to get caught in false teachings if you are not grounded in the Truth of God's word. People demonstrate what they value most by the time and energy they devote to something (see Matthew 6:21). When is the last time you truly studied your Bible? Many are waiting for somebody else to tell them what the Bible teaches, to follow the popular view, instead of searching God's word out for themselves.

Peter goes on in the passage that we are looking at to explain that these so called "christians" have returned to their sinful way of life while still calling themselves the followers of Jesus Christ. Their return to their old sinful ways showed that their knowledge of Christ was only superficial.

Peter says;

"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning."

"For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

"But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." [2 Peter 2:20-22]

So,dear Christian, where do you stand regarding these issues today?

The only way you will ever be able to discern truth from lies is to know the truth. Truth becomes the benchmark by which everything else is measured.
