Jesus gave His all!

Dear fellow Christian,

Jesus gave His all! He payed the price! Do we contemplate what that means? God says that the wages of sin are death. Sin is the transgression of the moral Law, God’s character written by His own finger on stone.

If God could have changed His character then Jesus would have never had to die in our place. Do we truly count the cost? God gave the ceremonial laws which involved the death of innocent animals. Would you kill your dog or your cat because your son sinned? This was a temporary, substitute offering. Something unblemished and innocent had to die for the sins made by man. How ugly and unfair for the animals. That’s how ugly sin is to God.

But what about giving your only child to die for sins of people that you have yet to even consider being a part of your family? If you can think of all the filthy, horrible, nasty, wicked things that man has done you can visualize Jesus taking this upon Himself as the innocent Lamb at the Cross.  Yes, He did that for you!

So, how are we as Christians responding to this ultimate love that God gave? Should it show in the way we live? Should it show in the way we talk and walk? Wow! Jesus said; “If you keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.” [John 15:10] “I and my Father are one.” [John 10:30]

Jesus paid the price to reconcile the world unto Himself. Because He loved you.  Do you love Him? Jesus says; “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” [John 14:15]
