To know Him

Do you have somebody in your life that you spend time with and  really love? Even people who have pets love to watch them and learn about them. We love to show interest in the things we love.

Look what our Heavenly Father says here in Jeremiah 9:23,24; “Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he UNDERSTANDETH and KNOWETH me, that I am the LORD which excercise loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.”

God loves the one that “knoweth” Him and that “understandeth” Him. Sad that many Christians say; “I do not understand God.”

Do you remember that old gospel song; “I love to tell the Story”? Do we as Christians love to tell God’s story? Do we love to hear Him? Do we love to know more about Jesus and His love? How can we do this if we do not “know” Him nor “understand” Him?

Look what Jesus said; “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall KNOW the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” [John 8:31] Oh what happiness we gain with just a few short moments in the Lord’s word!

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” [Romans 15:4] Do you have hope today?

We truly gain happiness by listening, learning, and obeying the word of God. Remember that other gospel song; “Trust and obey. For there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but then to trust and obey.”

God says; “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and KEEP those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” [Revelation 1:3]

God’s word promises us; “Cast all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” [1st Peter 5:7] We serve a God who cares, who loves us, and loves it when we spend time with Him. We know Him through His word and the comfort of the Holy Spirit who dwells in every true believer.

Remember that gospel song; “He touched me”….. and made me whole.” Has He touched you today? Do you have the joy that floods your soul? He can fill you with His love today!

Let us know Him deeper every day. Daniel said; “He [God] revealeth the deep and secret things:…” [Daniel 2:22] God wants you to truly know Him and what His word teaches and says. Do not use the old excuse; “Well, there are just so many different things people are saying about God. How can I know Him?”

First, study and read His word for yourself. He will guide you if you are sincere to his true people. Then we are commanded to remain with His people unto the end. His church is His “bride”, His “remnant people” whom He deeply loves and cares for because they Know Him.

May God richly bless your day and may you seek Him today while it is still called “today”.

Thought.......

Ellen White has said that doctrine is dry until we gain a personal experience with the doctrine through change, growth, and development.
