Feeling Sad

The End Of the Aol Journals

Many of us have already expressed our shock and sadness as the end of our aol journals. Like me so many of us have shared our lives over so many years. I never thought that this day may come but my friends it is here. I have been printing my journal and am going to have it binded into a book. There are so many memories in these pages. Some good some bad but like I named my journal just a little over four years ago it is "Our Lives". Many of you are moving to blogger among other locations. I need to do my research and see where the road leads me. My dear friends that I have made over all these years please don't lose touch. My email address is eternallife23@aol.com. Please let me know where you have gone. I will try my best to find you if I don't hear from you all.

To my loyal readers, I send you peace, love, and light. May the world continue to bless you and may all your dreams come true.

A final goodbye from aol journals but a hello to where the road takes us.!

Love you all......

So here is another entry. I am really trying to write more in my journal. I find myself sitting here writing and hitting backspace, backspace, backspace then the little x on the right corner.

It has been about two weeks that we moved into our new place. You can say that we have all gotten a lot closer. The place is small in comparison to all the others that we have lived in. The kids actually like it better then the house we were in before. Sometimes in life you just have to do what you have to do. Even if it means making major changes in your lifestyle. Yes, I want the big house with the big yard and all that American dream stuff. I much rather live with my feet on the ground and be able to pay my bills than always losing sleep over all that is over due and the loans that need re-paying.

The kids say that have more to do. It has kind of become a routine. They get home do their homework, help me out around the house and go play. They have made lots of nice friends. That is another thing there are so many kids their age around here. They no longer live in the "viejo" (old) people neighborhood. Mel loves her new school, just just entered high school. So far she is really adapting and making good choices. She is even doing good in her Math class.

I also have noticed major changes in Nat, she is more at home and spending quality time with us. She starts college the end of September and is really excited about it. I have to say that all the kids have gotten so much closer. They are all interacting more and having fun. I love how we now have dinner together most nights and at night we all watch tv in the living room.

One other thing that I love is the balcony. Since we are on a 5th floor we have a pretty cool view. There are tall trees, not sure what they are but it is great to see them dancing with the wind. The balcony is screened in so no bugs and a nice breeze all the time. I want to get two comfy chairs so we can sit out their. I have been sitting on the floor and after a while it starts to hurt. lol.

Peter's accident/this and that

I can't believe how long it has been since my last entry. The countdown is on. Two major life changes will happen next Friday 8-29-08. One is that we will be moving. The other I will not reveal. Peter and Melanie are sleeping Michael is at his dads house and of course Natalie is out having fun sometimes. Since she got her new car she is never home anymore. She is either working or having fun. It is funny I can remember not that long ago wishing that she would go out and enjoy life.

My son Peter was in a horrible car accident on Monday 8-18-08. He was going east on SW 24th street and a car made a left in front of him on to oncoming traffic. Peter hit him and by the end he had hit three other cars. All four cars were a total loss. If Peter would not have been driving that big car, he would not be here today. He hurt his left arm from shoulder to hand, burned his arms from the air bag, has a small cut on his hand, and is now having back aches. Not to mention how shook up he is. He says that he keeps thinking about this little boy. In one of the other cars there was a boy about the age of five sitting by the window. Peter says that he was going towards the pole and veered to avoid it and was about to hit the car when his eyes met with that little boys. He says that he will never forget the face on that little boy realizing what was just about to happen. He says at that point the airbag popped and he lost sight of the boy.  When I went to the accident scene and saw the car, I almost fainted I could not believe my eyes. We are talking about a chevy caprice totaled. The front of the car ended up by the wind shield. He was locked in the car, the doors would not open. Somehow he managed to get to the back seat and from there he was pulled out. When he got pulled out I guess adreneline kicked in he got up to run to see if the little boy was ok. He was able to hug him.

to be continued.....

I went to this class yesterday on how to manage your money better. I really learned a couple of things. Some I already knew but did not really practice.

So about my move, insert blank thought here. I guess I will talk about it later. Wow, lots of stuff to share later.

Feeling Quiet

There are things in our life that we can't control

Today has been one of those trying days! I have re-learned today that there are things that you have no control over. Then there are those that you can. Such as how you react to someone's behavior or things in our environment. Everyday that we wake up and step out of bed it is up to us how our day will go. It does not mean that our days will go on as if we were floating on a cloud. We will get flat tires, there will be traffic, and if you are lucky like me you will have no power in your home due to a storm. Like the famous saying says..."Life is 10 percent of what happens to us and 90 percent to how we respond to it" boy is that true. It is so hard to do sometimes. Today I have tried to make the best of all the yucky stuff. It has not been easy but so far so good. Sometimes, you just have to take a deep breath and just move on.

Tips for a happier life.....

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day.  And while you walk, smile.   It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.  Buy a lock if you have to.

3. Buy a DVR tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ’My purpose is to___________ today.’

5. Live with the 3 E’s -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.

7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts -- and tomatoes (fresh, sauce, paste).

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

14. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree

22. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present or future.

23. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

24. No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.

25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ’In five years, will this matter?’

26. Forgive everyone for everything.

27. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

28. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick.Your friends will Stay in touch.

29. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

30. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

31. The best is yet to come.

32. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

33. Do the right thing!

34. Call your family often.

35. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: ’I am thankful for __________.’ Today I accomplished _________.

36. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

37. Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don’t want a Fast Pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it, and enjoy the ride.

May your troubles be less,
May your blessings be more,
May nothing but happiness come through your door!

Feeling Quiet

The twist and turns of life.

There are so many things that I just don't understand.

I am so hurt right now and I feel so lost. I have no idea what to do or where to turn. I feel helpless and hurt for so many people in my life right now. There is so much pain and hardship for those around me and not a dam thing that I can do.

You are such a king human being and there is no other like you yet you are in so much pain and lonely. You bust your butt everyday for everyone and you just don't get a break. You are appreciated but that does not seem to be enough. I get that and I wish there was more that I could do but there is just not. I know that you are strong for everyone and I understand that at times you just want to disappear. I need you here in my life! What would be of me without you?

This life has so may twist and turns. There are days that we get out of bed expecting one thing and them it turns into something else. I hate drama and I hate problems. I wish that we would all be filled with peace and love. Love one another even through the difficult times. Why must so many people be at each others throats. Sometimes I am the one that feels like going to sleep and never waking up!

I am so tired of this so called life!

Hearing Grey's Anatomy re-run

How good it is to feel good! :)

Here I was all excited to watch my favorite shows to find out they are re-runs that really sucks!  I have decided to start writing in my journal again.

I had a couple of really bad days, thank God they seem to be gone.

My life has been going really good can't really complain. The kids are doing great enjoying their Christmas break and dreading going back to school Monday. It has been very fun with them.

Sergio is here and spending the night, I really enjoy spending time with him. He is a funny little guy. I think back to when I use to care for him when he was just a tiny baby and here he is kindergarten already. How quickly time flies. Natalie will be graduating this year and Melanie will be going to high school. That really freaks me out I see her as such a little girl still.

Well, I am off to spend time with my hubby and the kids.

Feeling Happy

Thank You Lord

Thank you for the little things
That fill my heart with hope.
For thinking of these little things
Sure seems to change the scope...

Budding flowers, seedling trees,
A warm afternoon and a cool summer breeze;

The lady bug, the butterfly
Big puffy clouds in a baby blue sky;

The clover patch, the honey bee,
A Sunday brunch or afternoon tea;

The sparkle of a midnight star,
And wishing on it from afar;

The calming effect of an evening rain,
As it taps against the window pane.

For all these things I can't complain!

So, when my life seems rough to me
I think of all your kindness brings,
And I find my sprits lifted up,
For you truly give my soul it's wings.
