My Initial Take On: AMY O'HARA

Hearing Q104.3 - NYC Classic Rock
Amy O'Hara was born and raised in Revere, MA. She currently works as a Sergeant Detective in the Major Crimes Unit of the Revere Police Department. She is married and her birthday is November 2, 1965.
I couldn't find any news articles on Amy, so I'm going to go by her age, job and what the Official CBS Site bio has to say about her for my Initial Take.
Cop is good. Cop can mean a character the likes of Mad Dog! <grin> But, of course, this cop is a lot younger than Mad Dog was, so that's a bonus. She played professional football according to the CBS website. Huh. I didn't know women played pro football. Okay... interesting. She also trains with weights and likes competitive sports. She's a Red Sox fan, but I'll forgive her for that -- I know it's only because she's from MA. I like her snacks, except I notice that she likes Almond Joy. Uh-oh. Sometimes she must feel like a nut. ;-) One of the movies she listed is a personal favorite of my own - 'As Good As It Gets' with Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson.
All in all? If she can truly fit in with people, I think she's going to be a strong competitor. She's worked her way up the ladder in a tough profession for women, is probably very fit and smart, too. The only drawback will be if she tends to dominate too early. A Detective Sergeant tends to boss. That doesn't always fly too well in the game of Survivor.
That's my Initial Take on Amy. What's yours?

I have to agree. I saw her face and liked her right away, moreso than anyone else I've seen here. I want her to go far. She certainly has overcome some serious obstacles to be a career police officer - this shows guts and determination. If she comes off as too pushy, she may end up being an early target.
My guess is, on reading her bio, that she's got a brain and realizes its a social game too, and hopefully she will be able to use her cop training and ability to read body language to her advantage.
Then again, in the beginning, she may not be a target because during the team comps, you want to keep the stongest players, eh? Who knows, but I hope she goes far.
Love you jackie!! -

JACKIE, this woman could be my TWIN! I about fell out of my chair when her picture came up! I can't wait to show my husband. Though I'm 2 years older, it felt like a mirror...how weird! (in a good way).
Good to see we aren't gonna loose you after the BB6 season. I love survivor, too, and I'm glad our little community will continue. Good luck with your knee!

I saw her face and liked her right away!! She's just got one of them faces. I hope she makes it to the final two, she deserves it just for being who she is LOL! Hopefully since she had to work her way up in a more male oriented profession she has learned how to sit back and observe and as for the physical comps I think she will be ok. Her and the football guy could be awesome together also, hopefully they're on the same team :) lol
