Old 'Survivors' Never Die
Old 'Survivors' never die, they just get recycled from time to time and rerun on OLN.
A case in point is Rob Mariano, also known as Boston Rob (or Thug depending on who utters his name). I was watching 'The Early Show' on CBS this morning when, lo and behold, there he was -- Boston Rob on my TV screen! Eep! In something they're calling 'Rob to the Rescue', they're going to be doing something very similar to what Ellen Degeneres does with her assistant Houston. She asks viewers to write in to tell her what Houston can do for them around the house -- whether it be adding a room, rehabbing a bathroom or kitchen, washing and waxing the car... whatever. Now 'The Early Show' will be doing the same thing with Boston Rob. So, I have to ask myself... do I really want Rob in my apartment to fix my toilet? Would he make it worse? Would he pretend to fix it, lie to me about it, say it's not personal but strategic and run away? Hmmm... maybe I'll just keep jiggling the handle for a while longer.
I also found an interesting online interview with a past 'Survivor' I really enjoyed on the show -- Ian! :-) The article is located here ---> Waynesboro Record Herald: 'Survivor' candidate describes 39 days on Pacific island. It offers a lot of insight into Ian and some more inside peeks at what it's really like to be on the show.
An excerpt:
The show was as real as could be for the cast. During the beginning, he said the cast traveled about six hours offshore and was plopped in a rowboat. The crew would not let anyone talk and simply shouted to "paddle west." Another two hours later, "Survivor" members saw land. All of a sudden, scuba divers who had been latched underneath the boat swarmed around as cast members swam to shore and helicopters appeared overhead for aerial shots. "People were everywhere but you never saw them," he said.
Gee. No one ever approaches me and asks me if I want to go on TV shows. Um. Well, I'd tell them no. But they could ASK! ;-)

I did NOT like Rob on the first Survivor. I liked him even less on Allstars. I didn't watch him on TAR or the wedding. So I won't be watching him on The Early Show. I like Amber & can't understand the attraction for Rob but to each his own.

If you go to the website in the entry above for 'The Early Show' -- you'll find a section on the left side of that page to e-mail 'Rob to the Rescue.' Of course, if you get aboard with it, you have to let us know how it went and send pictures! :-)

i saw the same thing on CBS this morning and was thrilled. I absolutely love Boston Rob. I watched him in his first Survivor experience, On All-Stars and TAR. I was rooting for them to win. I also watched Rob and Amber get married on CBS. Rob can come to my house and fix anything he likes. LOL
