Meet the Teams Part 1

The Gaghan Family

In brief:  Young kids... age 9 (Carissa) and 12 (Billy).  Bill, the Dad, says his biggest pet peeve about himself is his lack of patience.  [Editor's note: Uh-oh!  I can see it now!]  Tammy, the Mom, said nothing about herself.  They are well-traveled and both parents are marathon runners.  The kids seem spirited and ready to race.

The Schroeder Family

In brief:  The children are teenagers aged 15 and 17.  I can't help but think they'd do better than a 9 and 12 year old, but we'll see.  Mark, the Dad, says he's arrogant and confident.  [Editor's note: Boo!  Hiss!]  Mom, Char, thinks she's focused and friendly.  Stassi is the Queen.  [Editor's note: @@ - first eyeroll of the blog!] The boy, Hunter, thinks he's preppy and hyper, but his teammates think he can be lazy.  I predict fussing and squabbles.

The Aiello Family

In brief:  Hmm... the youngest "kid" is 26.  That seems a bit unbalanced when compared to teams with actual children!  It balances it a bit that the eldest is 57, older than the parents in the other groups.  Huh.  In the bio, Tony (57) seems to want to emulate The Godfather.  [Editor's note:  @@ ]  The family relationship is that the three younger men are all his sons-in-law.  Kevin, 31, is a risk-taker with a sense of adventure.  Matt, 31, is supposed to be fearless with a sense of humor.  David, 26, spent 8 years as a Marine and is now a police officer.  This is the team to watch, I think.

The Rogers Family

In brief:  Again, the children are older -- ages 22 and 19.  Just so we won't miss having beauty queens, the daughter Brittney is a former Miss Louisiana.  The father, Danny, is an outdoors enthusiast who says he's a workaholic.  Renee, the Mom, says she's outgoing and talkative.  Brittney is now working in pharmaceutical sales.  [Editor's note: OH, NO!  Please no more Aprils from BB6!]  Brock is entering college and admits he has little patience.

The Black Family

In brief:  Okay, this family has the youngest child in the race -- Austin at 8 years old; his brother Kenneth is 11.  The parents, Reggie and Kimberly, have been married for 17 years -- college sweethearts.  Reggie describes himself as calm, yet competitive.  Kimberly says she's witty and determined.  The entire family is into Tae Kwon Do tournaments and Austin has an advanced brown belt in the sport.  I don't know how they will fare against the more adult teams, but I bet they will keep pace despite the ages of the children.

Just took a look at your counters and it isnt looking too good, 70 from aol and 1189 from your personal. There is no good explanation for this at all.  Well I will try remember to include the numbers in my posts so you can at least have an idea.  Sorry Jackie....cant wait for TAR to get going, I used to love The Mole and it doesnt seem that will come back since they made a celebrity show. Grrrr ruined it.

Jackie,  I actually know the Bransen Family!  My son graduated from HS with the oldest daughter, Beth, and my DH sat on the elementary school board with Wally.  Mom has MS, I believe, which would prevent her from participating.  We are not close friends, we do know each other.  They are nice folks.
