Online Interview with the Black Family

I found an online interview with the Black family, the first team eliminated in the latest season of 'The Amazing Race.'  Of course, as I stated before, I really liked this family.  The boys were sweet, cute and had great manners!  They may have lost the race, but I think this family will always do well in life.  The parents are doing things very right with their children.  Kudos to them!

In the interview at
"That Was the Biggest Disappointment -- An Interview with The Amazing Race 8's Black Family" I was once again impressed with this family and only wish they had lasted longer.  (Oh, and that the Paolo family had lost the leg instead!)

An excerpt:
RNO: What was each family member’s favorite moment on the race?

Kim:
When we were looking for the Eastern Mountain Sports store and Kenneth was the first one to find it. I was very proud of my son, who was helpful in finding out where they needed to go.
Kenneth:
Crossing the Delaware River.
Austin:
Building the houses; we were good at that.

I loved the Black family, too!  The parents were so great with their children, just kind and attentive and courteous to each other.  The boys were cute, sweet and well-mannered.  It certainly appeared the parents wanted this to be a cool, family experience where they get to do something amazing together without tearing each other apart for a win.  They will go far despite this race.  I am guessing they did not "need" to win because they have all the right stuff and don't need to "learn" anything from this experience.  They were my favorites, and I hope they get another chance for an amazing family experience again, somehow.

I liked the Black family too, they seemed like genuinely nice people.  And the kids are so cute too! :)  Thanks for posting the interview.

Who is your favorite team then?  I like the Godlewski gals - they are a bit loud (I have to mute the TV whenever they squeal) but they are fun.  Go girls!

I have always liked your blogs, Jackie, but now I LOVE them! I have been to every TAR update site and YOURS is the only one that even mentions the 'Frat boys' from season 1! (hard to believe no one else caught it...all they talk about is the 'hot-dog vendors'!) I was surprised when I saw them at the frank stand and hope that there are more alumni throughout the season! Good lookin' out, Jackie!!  Sunni

I agree with you about the Blacks.  I can not remember ever liking a family so much in the first week.  I was impressed with every member of the family.  The boys were amazing.  Kudos to the parents for their childraising abilities.  They may have been eliminated from the race, but they are true winners in my book.

I also agree with you on the Paolo family.  I kept changing my mind about which one of them got on my nerves the most.  If I had to pick a favorite, I guess the father irritated me a little bit less than the boys and the mom.  (It just doesn't seem right to talk about the Paolo's and the Black's in the same note.  Gosh, talk about opposites.  lol)
