Feeling Chillin'
Hearing 'American Idol' ... naturally! 'American Idol' Blog 'n Watch
No Nadia. :::sniffle:::
The theme this week is disco, more precisely 70's dance music. Huh. In the 70's I avoided those songs, but they do give me some nice memories now in my senior years. ;-)
Constantine is going for 'Nights on Broadway' by the BeeGees. What the heck is up with that eye make-up? Sheesh, I'd rather he do something with that hair other than let it hang in clumps and streaks. My verdict? Eh. Of course, Paula is in awe. But this one is far from my favorite performance of his.
"Scotty the Body?" That does it. Ryan Seacrest has gone too far!
Carrie is doing the Donna Summer version of 'MacArthur Park.' I never got into the disco version of that song as the Richard Harris original held an odd significance to me. So, as good as she may be, I'm turned off. I don't think it's a good choice for the genre if you're thinking actual dancing music. Technically, she sang well. But to me, feh.
Scott is going for 'Everlasting Love.' Doing okay, but IMO he's the most easily dispensed with finalist at this point. His attitude is icky, methinks. He has a good voice, but... as a friend of mine says, "He looks like a serial killer." <g>
Oh, gee... Alex Tribeck is in the audience. How thrilling! @@
Anthony is singing 'Don't Take Away the Music' by Tavares. Okay... let's see how he does with it! Huh. Reminiscent of Ricky Martin for a moment and that was NOT the 70's! I like Anthony, but not too impressed. Uh-oh. I hope his fans can carry him through! He can shake dat bootay, though. A friend in IM with me begs to differ, thought he was great.
Chaka Khan's 'I'm Every Woman' is Vonzell's choice. She's looking good and singing good. I can't get all that excited, though. I think hers was the best performance so far this evening. She had the energy.
Maybe it's just me or their song choices thus far tonight. I just ain't thrilled with the lot of 'em!
Anwar is singing 'September' by Earth, Wind and Fire. Hmmm... I'm divided on his performance. He's got such a sweet smile and seems so nice, I want him to get through the round! He sings well, but I don't think that song was the best showcase for him. Still, homeboy connections goin' on here. WIN IT ALL, ANWAR! ;-)
Bo Bice is up! 'I'm Your Vehicle' by the Ides of March... PERFECT! The perfect song vehicle for him. He's my WINNER OF THE NIGHT. Just when I wonder why I like Bo, he shows me why. Simon nailed it. Bo is back. Woohoo! Hair rules!
