Hearing fan blowing...

Eight more days of school left and a weekend....

What a day.... My new white board I hung up today for my to do list... and what have I done on it so far, fill the pools and laundry and that is it.... and make son2 a list which he washed both cars, mowed the front yard, helped me with the pools, cleaned up all the recycables in the garage and clean his bathroom sink... but mostly cause he wanted to go to his friend's birthday party today... I have already dropped him off and hubby will pick him up later... Now son3 and are I eating dinner and on the computers...

It has been such an unproductive week this week... this is my family room today... I foresee the future of the summer of losing control of the family room to the boys... I haven't even made dinner all week, we have just been grazing through the kitchen and not on good stuff,  but bad stuff.... I was hoping to cook today and then that way it would all be ready for next week, but I can never seem to get that organized...

Take two of putting up the pools, which really was a good thing cause I was able to reposition them on the patio and there is room to walk now compared to the first time we put them up...

Son3 all happy that the pools are up again....

Got an email from son1 yesterday... he didn't quite get the assistant team leader position after all because they hired one of his coworkers from his old job and he got the lead position... but son1 did get a promotion to key holder which is just one step down from assistant team leader, so he is still happy...

Talked to hubby last night and he actually talked to the school yesterday about son3 as they called him at work... I don't know the details but I don't think the vice principal is there anymore since one of the teachers is acting as vice principal... and this person wants son3 to talk to the school psychologist on Monday about dealing with his getting mad.... we're like kinda late in the year and is this teacher familiar with son3's past episodes... anyway, we are familiar with this teacher and think he will be easier to talk with then the vice principal was... on account of we still have alot of questions from the year that we never ask cause the school always just says don't worry, son3 is a good boy we just have to call you when he gets mad as it is school policy... we have had two sons attend this school already and we are not familiar with the way the school is handling discipline this year, does not seem to have any.... although I am sure most of the years frustrations is due to the first grade teacher and I'm thinking son3 will not have as many issues next year...

Between talking to hubby last night and all this morning and son3 we have discovered this is what happened on Friday....

well first let me back up just a bit more.... last Thursday a week ago son3 forgot his folder so we did not have all the homework... but we did attempt to do the spelling words that we could remember and we completed his reading log and timed reading... however punishment for not turning in homework is no Fun Friday... Last Friday he had fun Friday even though we did not write the story or do his math since he did not bring home his folder... with me so far.... then the weekend and Monday was a holiday, then back to school on Tuesday... Tuesday however he forgets his folder again... Wednesday he brings home his folder and there is last Thursday's homework but no homework for this week, no timed reading, no reading log, nothing... So we did the homework we had missed... Still with me... This Thursday he brings home his folder and there is an agenda sheet for the week with Tuesday and Wednesday marked off and homework for Thursday only, still no reading log or timed reading.... So send him to school with quarters to purchase snack for fun friday....

Ok now on to what we discovered from son3.... (the phone call hubby had with the school said son3 had kicked a file cabinet, stomped his feet and slammed his hands on his desk)... After several separate conversations with son3 and many reenactments we were able to put the story together... Yesterday, Friday, all of son3's classmates went to fun Friday except for son3 and three other classmates as they had not turned in their timed reading cause the teacher forgot to put it in their folders and she even told them this... First grade teacher had seven older grade helpers helping her take down the classroom for the summer with two of them helping son3 and his classmates with their timed reading... Now here's where son3 lost it, his three classmates finished before him and were allowed to go to fun Friday, (even if he would have hurried to finish fun friday was already ending) so he got mad and left his seat and headed for the door, teacher said no stop and he did but turned and kicked the file cabinet, stomped back to his seat, picked up his paper that had fallen on the floor in his escape and slammed it back on his desk and put his head down... Ok... yes we are totally in support of the school that his tempers are unacceptable... what we don't understand is that even though the teacher had complete control the whole time and he was back in his seat why every time she calls the office.... is this the zero tolerance we have gotten to in the two years since son2 attended... I remember a warning, name on the board, lost privileges, note home to parent and then go to office and have principal call... now it is straight to office and call home... this has been going on the whole year... it is not good to be on first name basis with vice principal and principal when your child is only in the first grade and you run into them at Target, lol.... and it's not cause we have attended the school so long cause we are probably on the sixth vice principal and principal.... Not to mention that I am most frustrated cause she did not take away his fun friday when he really did not have all his homework however she took away their fun friday since she forgot to put the homework in... if she had not done this there would have never been an episode yesterday....

Oh which reminds me the other thing hubby told me... every morning since he started with this teacher for first grade there is a particular chair son3 wants every morning, they have to get their chairs themselves and go sit down... anyway there are only two and if someone else already has it he refuses to sit... hubby has been trying to break him of this all year.... so Friday the girls get to go in first and of course they pick son3's favorite chair so he throws down his backpack and crosses his arms... hubby snatches him up and takes him outside for a talk... sends him back inside to sit in any chair and apologize to teacher... son3 apologizes and teacher makes other student give son3 his favorite chair... hubby just stood there with mouth on floor... and had a feeling the day was going to go down hill from there...

one week and three days to go.... will we make it....

Son2 got an A on his car!! and he had a great time at the dance... not sure if anyone got the alert... to read more go here... Good Night.... we have almost eaten all the candy already, lol....

My pool cover for the little pool, a tablecloth... cept it has sunken in but at least it keeps the bird poop out until hubby figures out how to recover our gazebo.... the birds sit on top of the gazebo and well you know....

Waiting for the big pool to fill... this was about 3:30pm, then we left about 5 to take son2 to party so turned off hose and now it has been on ever since and it is almost 7pm and the pool is still not full yet... that 's alot of water... for the little 8ft pool and I need to look online for a cover... Target and Walmart don't have any in the stores....

Well hubby will be home in an hour... he got tons of nagging before he left for work and I have got nothing done today, not even any journaling... I hadn't taken a St. John's Wort  this morning so took one this afternoon and I guess they do work a bit, lol.... I go back to work tomorrow and work on Monday then visit on Tuesday and then I have a day off Thursday....

And hubby still has one more dentist appointment that he scheduled for Monday the 16th which is finally the first day we will all have off together since school will be done and we were going to Indiana Jones and after all the nagging this morning, he said I was already going to change it... poor thing, lol....

Happy Journaling....

that's a great idea for a pool cover.
I'm surprised the teacher made the other kid give up the chair, it's kinda encouraging his behavior? I'm thinking the more appropriate (lack of better term) way was to keep her grounds and dicipline. Kids learn so early in life that if they're showing undesirable behavior to start putting a stop to it slowly.

I hope things get better for your son.

oh, thanks for posting your living room pics, we should be neighbors LOL!

am i seeing a bit of a moustache shadow on Son2? Or is that the lighting? I would be sick of and mad at that teacher of Son3's. He is has a temper, yes, BUT she can not screw up by not having the paperwork you all need and then punish him. Phooey. She sounds scatterbrained.
Love all the pics. I hope school is out soon for you so you can take a deep breath. School has been out here for a week.

I love your white board and I plan to pick up one this week and have my to do list on it.  Great idea.  Yours is loaded for sure...
I know you all are dealing with so much with the school and Son3, but hang in there...he will be fine.  He has two strong parents guiding him through it all.  We on on a first name basis with Will's school Principal and VP and most teachers...due to we fought for Will to get all he needed academically in Kindergarden and 1st grade...they did not forget us...and staying in touch is a good thing...but they have to be fair...I felt so bad when reading about Fun Day...and how he did not finish with the others.   I enjoyed all the photos...and the pool looks so refreshing.  Son3 is so cute ...and loves it.  The pool cover is cool.
Hope all goes well this week...and yes, the countdown begins here too with school letting out...the 13th is their last day here.  Hugs and love to all,
    Joyce
