ANTONIN SCALIA EXPLAINS WHY DUCK-HUNTING WITH DICK CHENEY AS CHENEY'S CASE COMES BEFORE THE COURT IS PERFECTLY OK

This criticism Nino calls absurd.
It's true that Quackscam is an ugly word.

He says that simple folks - the likes of us -
Show ignorance by making such a fuss
About some guys who often fly deluxe
In White House planes to blinds for shooting ducks.
Unless, of course, we've hung with shahs or rockers,
We just can't grasp the life of big k'nockers.
There are, he plainly told the ones who'd jeered,
Some people too important to be schmeered.

The strongest point he made was when he wrote
That such a trip could hardly change his vote.
That's one thing that his critics can't rebut:
He'd vote for Cheney's side no matter what,
Then find some case law more or less in line.
If others do the same, that's five of nine.
You think they haven't done such things before?
Get law books out, and look up Bush v. Gore.

Trillin has a book of verse coming out in June titled "Obliviously on He Sails: The Bush Administration in Rhyme.  USA Today has a story at...

The title comes from a two-line poem, "The Effect on his Campaign of the Release of George W. Bush's College Transcript:"

    "Obliviously on he sails,
With marks not quite as good as Quayle's"

For such a bon vivant, Calvin Trillin is an intelligent man, indeed.  I caught him on Charlie Rose once; his witty brilliant answers are right on the mark.
