Retrospection, in transit

I'm on my way to my next destination. It's fun pretending that I'm really on my way back to Teresa's place in New Jersey, but let's be honest; that ruse wore thin after two other stops, and I don't think anybody ever believed it anyway.
So where am I actually going? It will have to be a surprise. Don't worry, you won't be in suspense too long. Unless, of course, the postal system is as inefficient crossing the border southwards as it was going north.
How am I posting this from inside a postal envelope? You like to ask the tough questions, don't you. Let's just say the laws of the flat-i-verse allow it, and leave it at that, OK?
This pause in my adventure will allow me to catch you up on some of what happened before now. My previous stop on this trip was in North Carolina, at the home of Bgilmore725. You can read about that in her journal Wanderer, starting here.
I spent Easter with Bea and her family, and then visited her classroom with her. I'm sure her students think she is a little bit loopy for that. But hey, who isn't.
Thanks for reading. I will check in with you again when I reach my next destination.

Here is a picture of me in Bea's classroom, standing in front of one of
her many M.C. Esher prints. She sure seems to like that guy.

Actually, Flat, the kids loved having you here. They didn't think I was loopy at all. Truth is, the other teachers wondered about my mental state. They had heard of your distant cousin, Flat Stanley, but had never heard of your name. "Scalzi? what's a scalzi?" I was asked at least twice. There you have it. No need to worry about a sudden rise in popularity and you won't have to worry about getting trampled around here. Not many bloggers in my little community. That may change, I think, in the near future as more and more people realize the value of internet blogging as a means of bringing about world peace. Flat, we hardly knew ye'. May the wind always be gentle and the rain cease when you are outside. Bea
