I thank you all for dropping by and saying hello.
It has been a fun week at AOL headquarters, basically being abused by several of John's former cow-orkers (as Joe calls them). Posing with all those comic book characters was pretty cool, though. I'm sure John got a kick out of it, too. Hey John, which figurine was your favourite?
Mine was the, uh, 'Coven Maiden' that I met at Pandora's place. No reason.

I have to ask. What the heck is it with all the dogs? I mean, I'm not a big guy, and even the smallest dog is a bit intimidating. And everywhere I go...

I got a whirlwind tour of Cape Cod this weekend. Well, Buzzards Bay, anyway, which is right where Cape Cod connects to the rest of Massachusetts. Well, the closest town is called Buzzards Bay. The bay is actually called Buttermilk Bay. Which is a smaller bay that runs off of Buzzards Bay (the bay, not the town). Confused? Don't worry, you're not the only one. I had to have the 'pot joke' explained to me, too. That Monponsett is as wacky in person as she seems on the Internet.
I didn't stay with Stacey for too long, as the old wanderlust has really taken hold of me. I might extend this adventure indefinitely. I dropped by Teresa's place in New Jersey this week, but only to tell her that I wasn't coming home to stay. I think she was disappointed, but I also think she understood. In fact, I think she was a little jealous. Too bad you big, 3D people can't travel via US Postal Service.

Before I visited Bea in North Carolina, I spent some time in California with Julie. It was rainy most of the time I was there, so I didn't get out to see too much, but that's OK. I've been to California before, you know. I did get to spend several days with Julie's delightful family. She even took me to work with her one day. I don't think Julie noticed, but she got a few funny looks from her co-workers behind her back.
Julie has a thing for flat people, I think. Did you see the pictures on her blog? Flat Elton, Flat Elvis. You should have seen the Flats she didn't want the public to see. It was a little bit creepy, to tell you the truth. I was just as happy to get back on the road.
Hopefully, I won't be too much longer in this stupid envelope. I think I'm getting a crick in my neck.

Here's a shot of me helping Julie's youngest son make sure his teeth are
clean before bed. Yes, my toothbrush supervisory skills are excellent.

I'm on my way to my next destination. It's fun pretending that I'm really on my way back to Teresa's place in New Jersey, but let's be honest; that ruse wore thin after two other stops, and I don't think anybody ever believed it anyway.
So where am I actually going? It will have to be a surprise. Don't worry, you won't be in suspense too long. Unless, of course, the postal system is as inefficient crossing the border southwards as it was going north.
How am I posting this from inside a postal envelope? You like to ask the tough questions, don't you. Let's just say the laws of the flat-i-verse allow it, and leave it at that, OK?

This pause in my adventure will allow me to catch you up on some of what happened before now. My previous stop on this trip was in North Carolina, at the home of Bgilmore725. You can read about that in her journal Wanderer, starting here.
I spent Easter with Bea and her family, and then visited her classroom with her. I'm sure her students think she is a little bit loopy for that. But hey, who isn't.
Thanks for reading. I will check in with you again when I reach my next destination.

Here is a picture of me in Bea's classroom, standing in front of one of
her many M.C. Esher prints. She sure seems to like that guy.

Welcome to "It's a flat, flat, flat, flat, flat world." I'm glad you decided to drop in. We're going to have a lot of fun together as I chronicle my journey across this great continent.
I'm sorry I waited so long to start this journal. I missed out reporting to you about my visits to California and North Carolina. I think I surprised even myself. It's not like blogging isn't in my blood, or anything.

While it has been an enjoyable couple of days, I am beginning to feel like it's time for me to move on. This Flat Paulsie fellow is nice, but he can be little bit annoying. He seems to have it stuck in his head that I am somehow responsible for his current condition, whatever that means.
Any way, even though it has been sunny here, it is still quite cold. Paulsie ensures me that it does eventually warm up. I think he's just a local stretching the truth about his home town. I can't see it going much above 65 degrees this far north at any time. Me, I'm no stranger to harsh winters, but at some point I like summer to come along, you know what I mean?
Plus, Teresa keeps e-mailing wanting to know when I am coming back "home." Like she has any idea. If she asks, don't tell her you saw me, OK?
