As the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq fades from the front pages, analysts are turning their attention to what is often called the "FORGOTTEN" war.
Many fear that progress in Afghanistan is stalled and that the country is in need of major new measures to reinvigorate the war effort against the Taliban and other extremist factions.

To that end, talk is increasingly turning to a troop surge for Afghanistan.
The conservative American Enterprise Institute think tank, which was instrumental in designing the current surge strategy in Iraq, in January convened an “Afghanistan Planning Group” that will shortly announce recommendations for an influx of troops into Afghanistan as well.

“It’s clear to everyone who looks at it that more troops are necessary in Afghanistan,” says Frederick Kagan, an AEI fellow and an architect of the surge strategy in Iraq.

It is clear to U.S. military officials that efforts in Afghanistan are faltering and that more troops could help turn the tide.
{GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!!! DUBYA GUMP HAS MANAGED TO MAKE AFGHANISTAN NUMBER ONE IN "DRUG TRAFFICKING" IN THE WORLD!!! DOES HE NEED MORE TROOPS TO GUARD THE DRUG SHIPMENTS OR WHAT???} HUH???
Lt. Gen. Karl Eikenberry, former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and now the deputy chairman of NATO’s military committee, says that there is currently a shortage of maneuver and infantry forces in the country.
What’ s more, he adds, there are not enough troops to train the Afghan Army and police. “That’s the greatest shortfall,” he adds.
{MAYBE THEY DON'T WANT TO BE TRAINED BY THE U. S. ARMY, BECAUSE THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT "DRUG" TRAFFICKING!!!} DUH???
To that end, the U.S. is now sending some 3,200 marines into the country. Half of them will serve as trainers, and the other half will serve as combat troops backing up British troops in violent, drug-producing Helmand province.
{YEAH RIIIGHT??? DUBYA IS DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT, AS USUAL!!! THEY ARE ALREADY NUMBER ONE IN DRUG TRAFFICKING. "WHY" THE HELL ARE OUR MILITARY TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN IN THE FIRST PLACE??? OUR SOLDIERS ARE ALREADY "STRETCHED" TO THINK!! EVERYONE IS AWARE OF THE "FACT," THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "WAR ON DRUGS"!!!} DUH!!!
But American soldiers—stretched to the limit in Iraq—are at a premium. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has repeatedly called on NATO member countries to contribute more troops to the troubled country. To date, these pleas have not inspired an overwhelming response among NATO partner countries.

Obama's pixie dust is wearing off.
A few in the corporate media are finally starting to reveal some details about this man's judgment.
I speak of Obama's long association with his spiritual advisor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Obama says he didn't know Wright was far, far left. While that is hard to believe, it says that Obama is not a very discerning judge of character. And it shows poor judgment for a presidential candidate to allow such an extremist to serve on his campaign.
Rev. Wright says AIDS was created by the US government to kill black people.
Come on!
"I didn't know about that man, Rev. Wright." Is that what Obama is telling us?
But there is more to come.
Obama's friend, William Ayers, is an unrepentent terrorist.
An Obama fund raiser, Rashid Khalidi, supports terrorists.
Wait till these tidbits come out. Maybe they won't release them till after Obama wins the nomination.
These associations with radicals show that Obama does not yet have the judgment nor the experience to be at the top of the ticket.

EVERYONE should join(infiltrate) the Feds/Police/Sheriff/Troopers/Corrections/Military/Security departments.
This will help us in two MAJOR ways.
1. We could get the training/experience/firearms/equipment from them, and try to recruit more people to be Christians/Truthers and open their eyes to the New World Order.
2. When the Elite send down their orders, we can refuse them(reducing their strong arm) and even fight it off(not many cops would shoot a fellow officer, regardless of the order).

The US Government is about to spend Billions of taxpayer dollars (converted to treasury notes by tax) supplying the Afghani and Iraqi military with RUSSIAN arms, Mi-17 and Mi-35 Helicopters, AN-32 cargo planes, training and maintenance facilities, etc. This is HUGE, Alex!
The long - term footprint will be no good for our economy and great for Putin’s cohorts.
The rationale is a Rumsfeld - era decision to equip our “allies” with helicopters etc. they are already trained to maintain and fly, etc. The equipment is less expensive than American but that is the only advantage to the taxpayer. This is no advantage to the workers at Bell and Sikorsky or Boeing Vertol who could set up a second production line. Write your congressman today!

Gold is good, but so is owning your own plot of tillable soil, a well or irrigation system, and private energy systems to get you off the grid. Growing and harvesting your own food saves energy. Burning less gas would be a great way to get back at the globalists. Soon you will be able to do local search for brand items and plan daily shopping to burn less fuel. We call that “smart shopping”. Who would’nt rather spend time with family than in traffic anyway?

My son just got out of Afghanistan and he’s already got deployment orders to go back in July. Word in his command is that they are really going to Pakistan in July. Looks like the Pentagon is expecting a major ramp up in activity across the Middle East/Central Asia this summer.
