guilt
there is a huge parade and social event today is Debary, Fl. this is suppose to honor me as a vietnam vet and i guess i should be proud, but i'm not. we lost that war because of politics and nothing is worse than being a loser. i will never forget the huge gathering or protesters that met our bus as we were leaving san francisco to come home. protest signs calling me a baby killer, people throwing eggs and tomatoes at our bus. i will never forgive that, the hurt and embarrassment, i was a corpsman with the first marines and i spent all my time caring for wounded marines. i deserve better. it took 25 yrs to ever admit that i was a vietnam vet. vietnam took my mind, i was lost, i was able to hide all the hurt by keeping my head in a bottle, what a way to live. don't call me a whiner, i'm not, i just don't like being treated under false pretence.
