Feeling Chillin'
Hearing Silence...
#9. My exhusband was a recording engineer. This was a time in my life that was very exhausting. I was raising kids, animals, and trying to fit the Hollywood scene into my schedule. Because of my exhusbands' status, I met many top Hollywood stars and music artists. He was nominated for a Grammy (on three different occasions) for his engineering work on The Carpenters...he never won. This was a very enlightening period in my life...a lot of growth. I didn't want to do the Hollywood scene, he did. After a time, he went one way...I went another and never the two could meet. Eventually, we divorced. In answer to your question, Karen, yes we are friends...not best friends...but friends. He lives about five miles from me. Occasionally, we get together for family holidays and such. He's never remarried...yet. Wanna know who some of the famous people I met were? I'll tell you. Hank Mancini, The Carpenters, Don Robertson, Duane Eddy, Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, The Baja Marimba Band (Julius Wechter), Herb Alpert, Ike and Tina Turner, Gladys Pip and The Knights, and many others. How's that for name dropping? Oh...John Wayne bought me a drink. Is that special or what? WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD!...Survival of the fittest!

How exciting. I loved the Carpenters (and if you remember from my list of 100 things, I know every single one of their songs by heart)!!! I'm glad the two of you remained friends. I'm sure the Hollywood scene was unbelievable!
