Tennis anyone?

My son Dan's car was not working right, and Raymond was in Utah, so I decided to go see my grandson Jamal play tennis on the bus.  Well an hour and a half later I got off and went to find Thunderbird High School where he was playing. I walked to the far end, it turned out, and had to go inside and look all over for the tennis courts, but I found them and Jamal.  He was just starting his singles match of the day.

He and the other player were very evenly matched so they fought and fought for one of them to come off the winner.  There were some good rallies and some neat shots.  Of course, as with any amateur player there were times when a killing shot didn't make it over the net. but I thought Jamal was quite a fearless player who would come up to the net and try all kinds of things.  I think with more practice he could be a very good tennis player.  I just love tennis and have watched many tennis tournaments.  I love about any sport that requires a ball to play it.

Jamal won the match and was scheduled to play doubles, too, but I decided I had better get to the bus so as not to be out after dark.  I wasn't quite sure when the 19th Avenue bus quit running.  I was very glad I went, got in a good walk, and was the better for it.  Doc cussed me for not taking my camera.  He says that is what it is for.  So I had to print another photo of Jamal.  Next time!  I keep forgetting I am a camera person.

He is going to be quiet a handsome man and have his pick of ladies.  I hope he chooses carefully and can keep his mind on education as long as possible.  He must've been so honored to have you come and watch him.  I understand about not remembering the camera.  Mine's been gone since January.  I think I've laid it down and lost it out in public somewhere.  It's teeny tiny you can hide it in the palm of your hand.  I do miss it.

    Jamal is a cool name.

We slug it out a lot. but I've always had a soft spot for Muslim names.

Congrats to Jamal for his victory!  I love tennis too and took lessons for a few years when I was very young.  You are so adventurous taking a bus to his school, good for you!!
