Good-night to Cookie Pearson...

I was so moved by my niece Marina Pearson's farewell to the family dog Cookie on the family website that I had to quote it here.  Sometimes a dog can be so loving to a family, doing harm to no one, you have to pay tribute to a great spirit.

"She came to us as a birthday present for Connor.   She accepted all of us as her family.   She hovered over us all.   Greeted us at the door each day.   She was my walking buddy, my running pal.   She ran a half-mile with me days before we found out about her cancer.   She was Hunter's and Connor's wrestling buddy...she would "grrrr them with a toy in her mouth so not to bite them.   She defended her back yard from all marauding squirrels and possums.   She was the mighty squirrel warrior.   She defended her house from all buzzing flyies.   She was the mightly fly catcher.   She had a bark much bigger than her actual size.   She was fearless.   Cancer took a loved one yet again.   We will miss her.   She was Cookie Pearson."

Her tribute is so heart rending and tender.  She will surely be missed. What a valuable part of the family she must have been.  My heart goes out to her.

Awww, Rest in Peace Cookie.  She sounds like a wonderful little girl, I'm sorry for their loss.  Marina's tribute is wonderful.
