The tiger is waking up...
Doc put the tiger to sleep with alcohol I don't know how many years ago, but the tiger appears to be waking up. Doc the tiger rushed me down this morning to film the last two episodes of Aunt Santhea. He was so charming in the last one at the piano, I could not help but marvel at the range of this man's talents. How could he have spent 10 years homeless? What happened?
It is my theory that an addicted person needs attention first and foremost. Without attention there will be no motivation for reform. So I have put top priority on giving this man attention. I know if he goes down, it will be like the Titanic sinking and he might take me into the depths with him. I have to try to get to him before he does that. I know this series has made him happy in spite of himself, brought him out of the shell he has built around himself. A guy in here said the other day he could not understand how Doc could just associate with one person day after day. Me. I said I didn't know how he could either, but I suspect he is to the stage where if he didn't associate with me, he would be gone.
I could not be nearly as funny without Doc. I have to have him present to bring out the funny in me. Take that anti-abortion speech. It was not one bit funny when I practiced it by myself. As soon as I started saying it to Doc and got his reaction, I could see how to make it funny. He inspires my funny bone. He was the one playing with the camera. He is the one who makes me lighten up. And I am the one who tells him to get serious.
We have made a good creative team. He has been worth trying to help.

I agree you and Doc are a team and a good one. Wish he would take care of him self. Paula
