Feeling Loopy

Where did the weekend go?

Has Tuesday really been the last day I journaled here? I'm behind on it and reading others so be patient :)

*Warning this entry may not make a whole lot of sense *

I'm suffering from a lovely head cold. I did all the "right" things, drink my daily dose of Vitamin C, take my vitamins, wash my hands very good, etc but those germs still find a way to invade my body!  School is going pretty good, there just aren't enough hours in the day anymore, lol like I had enough before huh? I passed my psychology test with a B,woo for me, since only 12 people out of 30 passed the darn thing. Yes it was a bit hard! I got an A on my first English essay. Now we have to do an argumentative one that is due at the end of next month complete with a project AND we have to stand in front of the class and present it. High school days flashed before my eyes! Thankfully my class is made up of mainly students who are, shall we say, a little bit older than HS age? :)  I have 2 math test this week, ugh.  I went to Keith Urban Friday night and oh my goodness not only does that man look fine he can really play a guitar! It was such a good concert. Come to find out earlier that day he had ridden his harley up to Tybee! AHHHH,lol   It was a fun time with my 2 friends though and we even went out after and got an appetizer at a bar/grill called Locos. mmmm potato skins! Yesterday was spent vegging instead of cleaning the house like I was suppose to since my head felt like it weight at least a ton. I did get the floors mopped, yah for me.

Off to make some banana nut muffins and then church. Yes I know I still haven't put up the greek festival pics from last week, I will I promise! lol

Feeling Chillin'
Hearing Some Beach - Blake Shelton

The nice chill of fall came and left....its now humid and will be in the high 80s again. I know, shouldn't complain but I really was having fun wearing my sweaters for 2 days, lol

I have a psychology test today, math test tomorrow and a english test on Friday. Thats all I'm saying on that subject, lol

We had a blast at the Greek festival on Saturday. I'll post pictures later of it since my camera isn't cooperating with me this morning! The food was heavenly, gyros, greek salad, baked macaroni with yummy spices and so much more. My favorite of course is the baklava, a greek dessert that is so good! They even had traditional greek dancers entertaining you while you ate with music.

We've been invited to a Halloween party by one of my friends on the 30th. We'll get there after we take the kids trick or treating. Dressing up is optional so Ben wants to get into the spirit of things so we'll see what we can come up with. We have an idea but I'll tell ya later :)  This is the first time in about 3 years that he will be able to go trick or treating with us since he was either working or deployed. He won't be able to do alot of the walking but can follow us with the truck :)

Keith Urban is coming to Savannah THIS Friday and guess who has tickets to go? Oh yes me! 2 of my friends and I will be in attendance. The tickets were cheap and we actually go them on the floor.

Have a great Tuesday!

Continued prayers for our soldiers who are deployed. May they all come home safely!

Feeling Quiet
Hearing Keith Urban :)

Saturday

Good Saturday morning everyone. I woke up to a chilly 45 degrees outside! Yesterday felt so very good outside. I know it won't last long for Monday brings in warmer temps again. Well I made it through my second week of school, whew! I passed by Math test with a high B and my English test with an A :)  Tuesday I have a psychology test, remembering all those terms are so much fun <enter sarcasam> Yes its very hard juggling school, housework and kids activites, but thankfully Ben has been wonderful helping as much as he can. He goes back to the doctor for his followup xrays this next week. So far so good!

I've watched the news on and off and been praying even harder for Nathan. He is in Fallajuh, my step sisters son. I need to call mom to see if she's heard anything. Prayers for all the soldiers and that they can come home safely and soon!

Today is the Greek festival in Savannah....Caitlin's good friend, Teresa, and her family help with the food every year and this will be Caitlin's 2nd year helping. She cleans up tables and gets tips for it. Shes looking forward to it and I'm looking forward to the yummy food. I'll try to take some pics and share later.

Thanks again for all the wonderful comments you all have left me. I know somehow it will all work out :)

Feeling Anxious

Humpday

Life sure is hectic when everyone is on a different schedule but then again I knew that. My family is having to adjust to mom being on a different schedule but so far its working. I had 2 tests today, the verdict will be in tomorrow! Caitlin's social studies teacher is about to drive me crazy though. Her class has a project they need to do and need to have the teacher sign off on their ideas ect. Well of course the teacher can't do this during class, that would just be crazy <insert sarcasm> so she wants them to either stay after school or come in early. Caitlin is staying after today for a math competition she is practicing for but of course this isn't working for her teacher's schedule so I have to take her in early tomorrow morning to get this done since Ben has a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon. I don't get it.

Our decision is this....the kids and I will be staying here and Ben will be going to Germany. This was so very hard and I still don't know if its the right one. I know that if the kids and I would go over that Ben would be leaving for Iraq soon after and the thought of the kids and I being in a foreign country while he is in Iraq doesn't settle with me too well. Its different when we move state to state and then he has to go, not easy but its doable. We are still going to get our passports so hopefully when the kids have spring break or they get out of school in May we can go visit. Also if my some miracle he doesn't have to go to Iraq then he can still extend for an extra year there and we can go. Somehow it will work out. I just hope we are doing whats best for our kids. Almost all of Ben's platoon here has orders for this unit in Germany so it does sound like they are beefing up that unit. I'm not sure if I can do this again so soon. I just got him back from that country and now he has to go back? I knew he would have to but he hasn't even been home a year yet. *sigh*

Ok the aroma of pumpkin bread is calling me, have a great night and thanks for all of your prayers. You guys are the greatest :)

Hearing CMT

It's Monday already?

Where did the weekend go? I officially finished my first week of classes, only 9 more to go! lol  English and Math are actually going good, mainly a review of things right now and I have a test in each of them on Wednesday. Psychology is kicking my butt! 2 hours of psych homework and my brain feels numb....neurons, neurontransmitters, brain functions etc. I vaguely remember doing this back in High School...eons ago so its familiar its just remembering.

Saturday was spent cleaning ( I seriously need to get some kind of a new routine!) and going to yard sales. We picked up a few bargains so thats always fun. Then that night our neighbors was having Karoke night (they do this from time to time) and dragged us over there. I am NOT a singer but it was fun and felt good to just relax a bit and be silly. Going to church yesterday made me feel so much better about a few decisions that we have made. Everything happens for a reason and I know He has a plan for us. I'll go into our final decision later in another entry, we may have to twik it here and there.

Today is Columbus day. I remember when I was in school we had that day off. Here in Georgia they go to school that day. Isn't it an observed holiday? Maybe thats just for banks and postal workers :)

My prayers go out to Christopher Reeves family. He passed away yesterday. He will always be Superman in my book and I was sad to hear this news. I could always picture him being able to walk again, he had such determination and so inspiring. He will be missed.  Go check out Robbie's beautiful tribute to him - http://journals.aol.com/krobbie67/RobbiesRantsRaves/

Thats it for now here in rainy coastal Georgia, have a great Monday :)

Oh is anyone watching Desperate Housewives? I love that show!

Feeling Frustrated

Life is throwing a curve

Ben went to his briefing yesterday and its Germany, not Italy, he will be going to. If he gets his doctor to sign saying that he can't go because of his ankle, he would be on a permanent profile and would be discharged immediately. We are trying to stay away from that as long as possible. So with the unit he would be going to in Germany, 1st ID, they are slated to go back to Iraq mid year 2005.  If he would take us it would be considered a 3 year tour, he would have to reenlist for an extra year since he doesn't have enough time left on this contract. He would have to go by himself first so I could sell our house, put my car in storage, put alot of our household items in storage since your only alloted so many pounds to take over there and give away our dogs since they now have a list a mile long and Tiny and Hercules fits in that list. By the time we would arrive he would probably be getting ready to deploy to Iraq. When we come back stateside we would have no idea where we would be stationed and basically have to start over yet again. Or...he could go there by himself and it would be a 2 year tour. He could then reenlist when he got back and have better options since he would be reenlisting for longer than a year if thats what he wants to do. I should be done or close to done with my nursing school by then and his duty station would remain here since we are here. If this whole Iraq equation wouldn't have been thrown in we would all be going. We both don't like the idea of us just getting there and he has to leave for Iraq. I just don't know, I know people will think we are crazy if he goes by himself but we have to think what is right for the whole family. By the time he would get back from Iraq he would be heading back here. We have until the end of this week to decide! I know being in the military expect anything but this really just threw me. Alot of his unit have orders for Germany so it does sound like they are beefing up that unit over there. I just don't know if I have the power in me to do this again. Its in there....somewhere.  3rd time over there and I pray that he will come back to me safely again. For now we will cherish every moment we have together. His report date is Jan 20

Feeling Quiet

Life

Life can be very interesting at times. Yesterday I started school and thankfully I arrived early since I knew I needed to get my books. For some reason you couldn't get them early so I waited in line for an hour, ugh, and had 15 minutes to spare to make it to my first class, math. The teacher comes in and he says that he has 30 students in this class and the room can only handle 20 so we signed in and he dismissed us. Yes that happened AGAIN today thats why I'm home right now since I have 2 hours in between. English I had an assignment and Psychology I had some reading. Should be a very interesting couple of months!

I get home yesterday and Ben tells me that he has to go to Ft. Stewart to take care of some paperwork about our possible move to Italy. We hop in the truck and when we get there they are telling him it could either be Italy or Germany. They don't know yet. Also if he gets a doctor to sign saying it wouldn't be advisable for him to go overseas that would be considered having a P 3 profile, which is a permanent profile and it means they would discharge him from the military. We don't want that I just want him better before he goes. So after answering some questions we're still not sure if we will be leaving or not since he doesn't have enough time left on this contract to go over there. They could go ahead and send him and then have him reinlist over there, who knows at this point. Also the majority of the time soldiers who have been getting Germany end up going to Iraq! It's still wait and see and he should be getting more info today hopefully.

Tonight the boys have cub scouts, thats always a fun time and I've been helping Matthew's webelo leader with the boys.

Have a great Tuesday and continued prayers for our soldiers!
