Remembering the Lives Lost 5 Years after September 11, 2001

The Reason I started doing this Blog thing was to join the Project 2996.  Here is my tribute and my thoughts.  Thank you for reading and a special Thank you to my friend Sidney for making me aware that this project even exsisted.  Please say a prayer for those who lost their lives and for those who miss them so very much.  God Bless and God Speed.  "Let's Roll"

I am proud to be participating in 2996, in where bloggers are randomly given a name of a person to honor on September 11 five years after that horrible day in 2001.  I knew 4 people who were killed that day and one person was especially close to my family.  So below is my tribute to Patrick Lyons, but I would also like to remember, Joni Cesta, Vincent Giammona, Ray York, and Orio J. Palmer who was a hero to my children as well as his own.  Know that none of you are ever forgotten.

Patrick Lyons , spent Monday night September 10, 2001 watching football and helping his wife Irene get the nursery ready for the arrival of their first child. The phone rang and Patrick was asked to come work overtime tomorrow at the firehouse 252 in Brooklyn.  Patrick never got to meet the son that was born on October 7, 2001.  Patrick Mate Lyons will only know the memories that all of his loved ones will share of his Dad.  I only found a short Bio of Patrick which shared the above story and said what a kind gentle person Patrick was.  He Loved all forms of Football, the Miami Dolphins were his team and he was Quaterback for the Fire Department team and a team in Suffolk County. He also enjoyed fishing, sometimes forgoing sleep to spend time on the calm waters.  He is greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

I am proud to be honoring and remembering Patrick.  I wish I had known him while he was alive.  I feel that I know him now.  God's Blessings to his family and may he watch over his Son always.
