SACRIFICE "TIL IT HURTS

COPING WITH TUFF TIMES

Should have turned down my Hearing Aid. Hearing this young couple making plans to Sacrifice in order to remain Solvent.

(Wish had known these things back in the 1930s).

She expounded first with,

#1, we will begin Eating Out only Twice a Week.

2- We will drive the Small car except for special occasion.

3- Limit trips to Cripple Creek to Once a Month.

4- Drop Starbucks for MacDonalds Coffee.

5- Cut back on Air Travel.

6- Instead of Gym, do our own yard work.(looking at 'Hubby').

Glad the battery 'went out' on my hearing aid.

That little Lady was certainly willing to Sacrifice.

Sam, I know you went through way worse than this, and  you survived just fine!  I kind of can understand what you mean, as I've been laughing at all of these big city elitests telling the rest of us how to cut back when times are tough.  Only thing is- the rest of us already live the way these folks are learning about now!  What is starbucks anyway?!  I've never set foot inside the place.  Even if I had money, I'd never waste, what is it, like 7 bucks for one of those latte thingies?  Oh- it's hard not to laugh.  God Bless you Sam!  Carolyn

Hi, Sam, people nowadays do not know how to economize.  They do   not realize that they need to cut back to necessities.  Nor do they know that when they want something they should save until they can pay for it instead of using a credit card or getting a loan, which in the long run will cost them three or more times the original cost.   Take care, NR.
