After a couple of weeks of conferences in San Jose, promoting Open AIM, it's good to get back to the east coast. The most entertaining part of any conference is the unintentional overuse of key product terminology. For example, at VON everyone talked about how important IMS was, and at GDC it was all about "casual gaming". You were pretty much guarenteed to be the uncool kid in town if you did not somehow have a story about how your product was an IMS product, or how your games were casual in nature. Of course, I am guilty of overusing product terms as well. Lots of times I talk about communities, communities, communities, but in reality there is much debate about what constitutes a community. Is it the 'n' number of people who use your product, or is it more about how you connect the people who use your product.
Look for a return to normal blogging procedures this week, including a mailbag and some funny news that I have been storing up over the past few weeks. For those interested here was my flight path back...
