Buddy Maps and the Monsoon

The Who - Baba O'Reilly

Yesterday in DC we were innundated with over 8 inches of rain out here in Dulles.  It was truly incredible to see that amount of rain in a 24 hour period.  Roads are flooded out and there was a mud slide that forced part of the Beltway to close.

Now to the "technical" news.  So far the response to the Location plugin has been phenominal.  This week we have seen some specific blog posts talking about the plugin.  One thing I wanted to share with you was a quick snap shot of a map we have that shows peak usage.  Eventually we will make more maps available publicly, for now I will post a screen capture of one map.  It shows that around the major metropolitan areas of the country is where we are seeing the greatest usage (green).  If you have not done so already, go and check out the plugin and let me know what you think.  If you are a developer and are interested in how to integrate our location APIs into your product check out the AIM SDK and definitely come listen to my talk at Mashup Camp2 in a couple of weeks.
