Between all the work and travel I have been shirking my AIM blogging responsibilities. Last week we released Open AIM 1.2.1 and 1.2.3. This release is significant because we added some new features like custom session support and we fixed many bugs. Why the two different releases you ask? Open AIM 1.2.1 is to be used if you are writing plugins for AIM 6.0 because that is the version of the SDK that AIM 6.0 shipped with. If you are writing a bot or a custom client, you can use the 1.2.3 SDK.
We have added more samples as well to the SDK, which was a big request people kept asking me for. One specific sample you may want to check out is the new custom session example. Custom Sessions allow you to establish a back channel to a user to send custom data. In the sample, I show how to send custom text.
As always feedback is appreciated. Questions and comments are always best left in the message boards, but you always leave your opinion below.
