MusicLink Fix

The Oolahs

I was able to find the issue with AIM Music Link not working on Vista.  It seems there were a couple of problems, first is if you installed the latest AIM 6.1.16.1 beta client, and had never installed any previous version of AIM, you would get prompted that you had an incompatible version of AIM.  The second issue if you could get past the first one is that the dll would not register.  At first I thought it was Vista UAC or Administrator issues, but alas it ended up that a dependency that is shipped on XP is no longer shipped in Vista.  Oops, mea culpa for not seeing that when I tested it on my Vista box.

In any case, you can download AIM MusicLink 1.0 here.  For a refresher on what MusicLink does and the media players I support read here.

Later today I will be doing a Tech Trends blog post.  Please let me know if you have further issues with the plugin.
