Open AIM SDK 1.2.4

Today we launched the latest Open AIM SDK version 1.2.4.  This SDK corresponds to the Open AIM engine that was shipped as part of AIM 6.1 a week ago.  Here are a few select items in the change log for this release:

- Added AccWebPresencePrivacyMode enumeration
- Added preferences: aimcc.privacy.webPresenceMode (by default, defers to aimcc.privacy.mode) and aimcc.connect.openAuthentication.
- Added Technote 9 about Direct IM.
- Java wrapper:
    - Added AccVariant.SetBytes(), which creates a safearray of bytes.
- Bug fixes:
    - Incompatibility with microphones built into some (but not all) USB cameras.
    - On Win32, IAccStreamListener missing from typelib.
    - AccSessionProp_AppearOffline did not reflect multiple instances.
    - IAccCustomSession remote user not added to invitee's participants list.
    - Lifted restriction on when AccSessionProp_AppearOffline can be set. Previously it had to be set during the connecting state, but it can now be set at any time, e.g. before calling SignOn().
    - Auto-reconnect on Vista.
    - Intermittent crash if p2p session released while connecting.
    - Acustomsessbuddy:
        - Incorrect mime type in ACustomSession.cs.
        - Miscellaneous improvements.

Though my favorite fix that I mentioned during the talk this morning is the new documentation we have online.  Our entire API can be viewed now online without having to download the SDK.  As always feedback is appreciated.

The 1.2.4 SDK download link isn't showing up yet, and the online release notes are for 1.2.3. The webmaster has been notified.

On a related note, there won't be a Mac version of 1.2.4 because we've been focusing our Mac efforts on 1.3, which we hope to ship soon. The release of 1.2.4 is mainly driven by the latest release of AIM 6 (Win32); i.e., it's useful for AIM 6 plug-in developers.
