Data aggregator tools are always fun to play with. I mentioned back in the early part of January there is one site the can aggregate things like the sales of milk vs the sales of beer over the last 50 years. Recently we launched an interesting view of live data on the AIM network thanks to Google Earth. Alan talked about it yesterday on his blog, but I definitely wanted to shed more light on it today. This mashup uses live data from the network showing IM conversations between two locations. In other words, if you were to IM me, you would see on the map a line between your location and Dulles, VA. The map also shows where the highest AIM Fight users are located. As always we maintain and honor privacy, so you will not see screen names on the map. You can download the Google Earth KML file here.

Think it would be possible to create a mashup that would pipe news in realtime to my IM client, maybe via an RSS feed?
For example, there was an interesting news article on Boy George today I would have liked to have been informed about that, like through a dedicated Boy-George-RSS-to-AIM feed.
