Marketing Uber Alles!
Why?
Why did this game have to be played in London? Are we not making enough money in the NFL? Has the game itself become this unimportant in relation to how it's marketed?
The Giants edged the Dolphins in London, England yesterday in an overhyped game that was played on a field that was not meant to have American football played on it.
Don't get me wrong, the English fans were there and loud and stayed throughout. Hearing the crowd so clearly singing its national anthem was very stirring especially when we can't get through the American version without most of the crowd cheering before the song is over.
The Giants escaped with a win, that's all I wanted out of this "game." Nobody appears to have gotten injured and the Giants go into the bye week at 6-2.
I had a great blog written previewing the game, but my computer froze and it was lost. I did predict a low scoring, run dominated game. Trust me.
It must be that I bought into the hype of what my computer was supposed to be able to do. Now, if the company had worked as hard at making the computer do what it was supposed to instead of working so hard at marketing the damn thing, maybe my preview blog would be viewable.
Oh well, see you in Berlin next year!
