The Wheel-o-Diversity on the 'Amazing Race'

One of the most underrated TV shows out there that I try to get my friends hooked on is the 'Amazing Race.'

Now on its 10th season, it quietly goes under the radar mostly because of its reality show cousin, 'Survivor.'

In case you haven't seen it, the premise of the show is teams of two race around the world in a series of competitions.

This year's cast is better than most which only makes this season that much better:

David & Mary - The state of Kentucky, these two are giving you and the South a bad name! Talk about living up to the stereotypes of a white family from the South: David is a coal miner while Mary is a homemaker. (check) Prior to this show, they had never met anyone who was gay or who was Asian. (double check) I haven't noticed if they were missing any teeth or not but that would get them the trifecta.

Dustin & Kandice - Don't let the blonde hair and the fact that they are Miss New York and Miss California fool you - these two pageant queens are playing to win. They are my long shot team to win this game.

(A commercial just came on for a new season of Little People, Big World on TLC. Hilarious. Gotta check that one out.)

Erwin & Godwin - The brothers from San Francisco must be proud that whenever Mary thinks of Asian people, they are what will pop up in her mind. I sense a little animosity between the two brothers at times. Erwin graduated from Harvard and maybe he made baby brother look bad as a result. Bad enough the man's name is Godwin. No need to rub the Harvard degree in his face.

Lyn & Karlyn - Why the black female couple have to be known as the single parents? Like Lyn and Karlyn decided let's be friends because the father of our children decided to skip out on us. Boo, CBS, boo.

Peter & Sarah - Hands (or should I say leg) down, easily the most annoying couple this season. These two met as a result of Sarah being an amputee and Peter who just so happens to be a clinical prosthetist. After checking out her MySpace page, it is no surprise that Sarah is a.) from Long Island and b.) attended the University of Southern California.

Rob & Kimberly - Bicker, bicker, bicker. Fight, fight, fight. Every season has that one couple where you think to yourself, "Why are they even dating?" Well, that's Rob and Kim.

Tom & Terry
- The "How you doin?" couple on the show, their bio on the Amazing Race website reads "Tom & Terry are a feisty and fun gay couple who have been dating for the past two years." Feisty and fun used when describing a gay couple? Naw, couldn't be.

Tyler & James - Drug addicts turned models - how else can you be skinny enough to model unless you do drugs. These two became friends after going through rehab and they are my pick to win this season's race. Why? Like sports, the individuals who are associated with drugs usually perform the best.

the ladies look better in this photograph than they do on the show, I belive that the show editors probably have a lot to do with that , and I do not like the term "single mother" being plastered with the black women, CBS is well aware of what they are doing: Stereotyping!!! people act like they don't see it or it wasn't intended to degrade them but damn describe them another way, man, it seems like "Black Bama single mothers" pops on the screen when they running hard or panting, or confused. Everyone on the show has ran hard panted or been confused, but the way it's portrayed is like look at these "Poor black Bama mamas", now I read below that someone knew one of the women and she is actually very successful and I'm glad to know that, because White America (the one's behind everything we see on television!) is not giving us that image, White America portrays single motherhood in a negative light, we start  thinking: Projects, Ghettos and poverty when in actuality she's a successful woman, hell probablly Single by choice not circumstance! so I said all that to say:::: Lyn & Karlyn - Why the black female couple have to be known as the single parents? Like Lyn and Karlyn decided let's be friends because the father of our children decided to skip out on us. Boo, CBS, boo.    Exactly, Marcus hit the nail on the head!

I have watche the "Amazin Race" since its beginning and I couldn't think of missing an episode.  One thing I have noticed this season that puzzles me is the fact that none of the teams seem to be enjoying themselves.  I mean they are seeing things that many people only dream about and all they do is moan and groan.  One other observation...I would like to see more puzzles tht concentrate on brain power instead of brawn... Producers, More Mental and less Physical.

amazing race is adventurous; competitive; daring; and innovative show. you get to see people with diverse cultures, how others live. I comment Lyn and Karlyn on lasting as long as they have, and being black females.  I try not to miss a show. it doesnt have a lot of crazy and foolishness like some realty shows. i really can say i look forward to watching amazing race each week. this season seems to be really exciting! GOOD LUCK LYN AND KARLYN!!

I'm an aquaintance of one of those fabulous Birmingham ladies and believe me the term single mom to her is nothing negative.  Sure,  CBS does give the impression that they were never married and are just "single moms".  What they don't say is that one of those single mom's was married, is a former corporate employee, and a successful leader in her current field.  Hopefully America will see the side of them that I know.  GO Bama!
