Finally, Something Funny Coming From 30 Rock

Last, but certainly not least, '30 Rock' made its NBC debut this evening.

Yes, it was laugh out loud funny, thanks to of all people, ex-Saturday Night Live Weekend Update gal Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan.

'30 Rock' is loosely based on Saturday Night Live, as Fey's character is the head writer of a fictional comedy-variety show called 'The Girlie Show.'

Alec Baldwin (Where has he been?) plays the network executive and decides to bring on board Tracy Jordan, an unpredictable and funny actor/comedian played by the role of Morgan.

There is star power across the board from Baldwin down to Jane Krakowski (Ally McBeal) and Fey deserves credit for writing at least a pretty funny pilot episode.

Just in case you are reading this and thinking this plot sounds like another new NBC show I have been watching - it is very similar to 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.'

Only difference is 'Studio' is more of a drama while '30 Rock' is a comedy.

But like with all new shows, the question that needs to be asked is "Will it survive longer than a season?"

The jury is still out but when you're funnier than the show you are making fun of (Saturday Night Live) then chances are it will make it to Season 2.

I love this show! it was very funny. I think its funny that Tracy Morgan said in an interview that his character is not based on Martin.
If anyone watched it, it's very much like Martin.  I wonder what he thinks about it. It would be funny if he made an appearance on the show, it is very laugh out loud funny!. A must see!!!
