Feeling Chillin'
Hearing Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Spending some time at home has allowed me to check out some digital channels that I don’t have access to back at school.
One of those channels is Noggin, which turns into “The N”after 6p.m. Noggin/The N is the sister channel to Nickelodeon and falls under the Viacom family.
I’ll admit, the programming on The N is a little young for my everyday viewing pleasure but the show ‘Beyond the Break’ caught my eye.
Maybe it’s because I’m looking for a replacement for ‘The O.C.’, which is getting axed.
Or maybe I miss those yearly vacations to Hawaii as a kid.
Or maybe it was to see Tiffany Hines in a bikini.
‘Beyond the Break’ is a show about four women trying to make it in the world of professional surfing.
Just imagine the movie ‘Blue Crush' meets ‘Saved By The Bell.’
A surfboard company sponsors the four women as they live in a house together and compete in surfing competitions, which is not much different from what real professional surfboarders do in Hawaii.
Hines plays Birdie Scott, a 19-year-old surfer from Chicago who ditched college in order to pursue a surfing career.
Now you know black people aren’t fond of the water, let alone the beach…
…but a black woman who surfs, that’s impressive.
(OK, OK, so they have stunt doubles for some of the scenes, but still, you couldn’t pay to get me on a surfboard.)
A perfect show for teens, ‘Beyond the Break’ airs on The Non Friday at 8:30p.m.

ORIGINALLY I THOUGHT IT WAS CHANNEL FOR BABIES AND INFANTS AND THE SHOW IS PRETTY GOOD AND ALTHOUGH RACISM DOES STILL EXIST WE NEED TO LET GO OF THAT AND MOVE ON WHETHER SHE BE AFRICAN-AMERICAN,ASIAN,LATINO
,CAUCASIAN SHE IS A TALENTED YOUNG LADY AND THAT'S ALL THAT COUNTS. -
I saw the premiere on friday. It was pretty good. i didnt expect the N to have such a good show. But they surprised me. Their actually stepping up!!

I watched Noggin before I went to college, but we did not get that channel at school. I like a few shows that were on there, but I havent watched in a while. I stopped a little after Beyond the Break premiered. I have watched it a few times. It's a pretty decent show. The shows on "The N" are good shows for teens in general, but sometimes they do get out of hand.
