the mojo takes time, but it works...

So, tonite was a doubleshot night - not only Riverchasers in the BBT3, but also AIPS, a 2+1 rebuy tourney.... I'll say this right now -  what a great fucking idea. It's a shame there's wasn't one rebuy in the BBT3. To play a tournament after the first 90 minutes and not be in shovemonkey mode... golden.

Jenn played along too - and Riverchasers sucked for the both of us. She went out 76 of 88, I left 70 of 88. We both spewed chips into flstfboy11 - her with TT<JJ all in preflop, me in a spewy fashion.

I open raise KsQs for 3BB, he flat calls in SB. flop A66, two spades, he leads 2/3 pot, I reraise 3x his bet, he shoves a little more with AJo, I call and don't get there, though I river a King.

As PirateLawyer said, it's wacky to see an all in there with top pair meh kicker and a flush draw, but whatever. He'd done enough spewy stuff at that point (call a raise in position with K9o and check behind three streets, call OOP with Ax, lead a rag board on three streets, including the river, where he finally hit the bottom end of a four-straight, and instacall a shove) that I didn't believe he had an A, even though it's his most likely holding... Anyway, it was just monkey spew, especially because I checked after the fact, I was third in May points and need to make another couple of deep runs to be competitive

So, I was annoyed and made a prediction in chat - flstfboy11 will not make the final table - which was wrong to do, but I really felt like he was playing too fast and loose to make a deep run.

Turn to AIPS - run good early on, never have to make a rebuy beyond my initial double buyin, take the add-on and have around 9K in chips at the first break. Then, pretty much nothing happens for forever, then I end up flatting a 3x raise in the blinds from EP with QQ (blinds 300/600, I have 9K) flop K42r I check, Godard SHOVES for 16K, and I tank. Would he do this with a K? I decide to call, get shown KQo (fuck) and don't spike a one outer. Boo, out in 35th.

In the meantime, Jenn half nods out, nods in to AIPS, doubles through a couple of times, goes up, does down, makes the money, - that's nice.

I check back with Riverchasers while picking up some tokens for the rest of BBT3 - While it sucks that JD Schellnutt, wwonka69 (the two guys ahead of me in points) and flstfboy11 are still in with two tables left, I luck out when JD finishes 11th, flstfboy somehow bubbles in 10th despite having 45K in chips (go MOJO), and wwonka 69 finishes 7th - so I'm losing ground, but not as much as if they would have won Thursday.  Anyhow, congrats to Astin for taking it down.

Jenn is still using all nine lives in AIPS - still alive with 13 players left, finishes 11th. nice job.

snoozy time now, holiday weeking upcoming, woot.

Your bustout hand was bizarre. I've come to believe there is no such thing as fold equity vs. 90% of the blogger field.

    Did I bust flstfboy11? Don't remember.

Astin was the true luckbox though in RC.

Still can't believe he took it down. ;)

Good luck the rest of the way in the BBT3.

I had a good time playing the AIPS event last night.  We even shared a table for a couple of minutes.  Congrats to the Mrs.  I ran AA into 33 and we all know how well that works. ;-)
