Jeff Dowell, Jr. 1922 - 2002

Five years ago, May 19, my father died.  I just wanted to share a few pictures of him, and of the beautiful gravestone that Mom picked out.

           IT REALLY DOES MEAN A LOT.
    JEFF DOWELL WAS TWO YEARS YOUNGER THAN I AND SERVED DURING WORLD WAR 2.
         THANKS FOR YOUR FAMILY PHOTOS.
    THERE ARE SO MANY LOYAL MILITARY FAMILIES AND VETERANS OF WORLD WAR 2 THAT ARE DYING EACH WEEK NOW.
        RECENTLY I READ OF THE LAST VETERAN OF WORLD WAR 1 DYING. OFTEN I THINK OF MY MILITARY BUDDIES AND WONDER HOW MANY ARE ALIVE.
         I HAVE NEGLECTED TO HAVE CONTACT WITH ANY, NEVER ATTENDED ANY RE-UNIONS AND NOW MY SQUADRON AND GROUP ARE NOT MENTIONED IN THE PUBLICATION RECEIVED.
        I ENJOY READING YOUR JOURNAL ENTRIES.  MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS ALL HIS CHILDREN AND HOPEFULLY SOON USE HIS POWER TO CORRECT THE EVILS OF THE WORLD.      sam
