Hearing one of Dave's tapes

Tabby is weaving a blanket

David and Tabby went out to Hancock's Fabrics to buy some yarn.  (I forgot to tell him to ask for the Educator's discount). Tabby made her own loom by punching holes in the top and bottom of a large piece of cardboard.  Last summer she learned how to weave at Baker Hunt.  She is determined to make a blanket for my niece Ashley's new baby.  Tabby is busy weaving while she is watching Gargoyles with Mandy and Elyse.  Her father was really impressed that she knew how to weave and make her own loom.  He mentioned how self-confident she is.

Elyse and Mandy worked for about an hour planning the Murder Mystery before heading upstairs to watch a collection of Gargoyle episodes that  Elyse had taped. ( I have never known anyone who forms as strong a connection to the characters in series as Rachael and Elyse.) I watched a few moments and found it quite entertaining.  The creators of this animated series use a lot of mythology. Elyse spent the night.  Later in the afternoon I found Mandy up in the library with several books on mythology and legends.  Avalon and the Sleeping King figured strongly in the episode I watched.  I told Mandy we can get her some books on tape about mythology.

Tabby is so proud of her work. Last night she wove a beautiful bracelet for her big sister Mandy. In her email letter to her Grandmother, she told her, "I m a weaver." She is wanting to have a monthly club where kids come to our house to weave. I am also looking into the Cincinnati Weaver's Guild for her.
