On Tuesday, Feb 9  Kas has offered her home for the girls to have a Valentine's day party!  Meeting/Party will be from 10 AM to noon.  During the meeting we will be working on planning our Awards ceremony and also be working on the "being my best" badge, located on pages 32 and 33 in the badgebook.  One part of the badge is to write positive statements about the other girls in the troop.
and on the Valentine to write something positive about the girl she is giving the Valentine to.  We will be making cards to send to some senior citizens to fill the "good deed" portion of this badge.  Another part of this badge is for your daughter to boost her self esteem by becoming aware of her talents and strengths.  Between now and the meeting, have your daughter write down a list that begins "I am good at...."
The list should contain at least 7 positive statements about herself, remember to bring the list to the meeting.   We will also be working on awards for the ceremony.  The meeting will end with a short Valentine's celebration.  I will be providing cupcakes.  I need families to volunteer to bring juice, cups, napkins, and another treat.

I also need to collect $12 per girl
for badges and supplies for the ceremony.  Please pay me no later than the Feb 9 meeting.  If your daughter has earned additional badges, figure $1 for each extra badge (the only people I have heard from are Valerie and Kas).  Make checks payable to GSGRC Troop #8259.
