"Attack of the feathers"

"The best laid plans o' mice and men

gang oft go astray"

Yesterday morning I snuggled in bed with Shelby, nuzzling the top of her fuzzy little head while she nursed. We didn't have anywhere to go or anything to do, so we lazed in bed for awhile. I love to just touch her silky skin and smell the top of her little head.  Eventually, I got out of bed and we sleepily headed downstairs for my morning cup of hot tea. When we got downstairs, I couldn't believe my eyes.  Atticus had scratched and scratched at his feather dog bed until it exploded....all over the house. Goose down and feathers were everywhere.  Atticus blinked at me innocently. "who, me?"  He had feathers stuck to his nose and to his head. They were stuck to his tail and all over his coat.  It was funny, until I started to clean it up. Thank the good Lord my friend  came over just then and helped me get the dog bed outside (he and Mandy left to train at Pat Patton's class at the dojo.) He even used the shop vac to get more of them up. Three hours later, I was still trying to clean the mess up. The feathers float away everywhere....until I discovered that my Flylady feather duster attacted the feathers.  It helped quite a bit, at least until Tabby called me into the kitchen for something. I left it on the bed.  A few minutes later I smelled burning hair (I thought) and walked back into the living room.  Shelby had tossed my feather duster over the firescreen. It burned up completely...what is it with feathers, anyway?  I've been cursed...LOL  What feather diety did I offend?  I worked so hard to get them up before my sleeping husband woke up because I didn't want him to have an allergy attack. He is very allergic to goose down.
