Barb Bonney visits
My dear friend Barb Bonney dropped in on Friday night. I really miss seeing her more often...the baby changed my social life quite a bit. :-) It was nice to just sit and talk with another adult woman about things other than my children (although I did talk about them quite a bit. Shelby was running around and she is just so CUTE.) Barb also lives down here in the East Row Historic District and is remodeling an old home. She told me that she had Dennis Delaney from Clan Desdin strip the wallpaper in her living room and bedroom.( I wish we could get someone in here to strip the wallpaper in the computer room. When we try to peel it off hunks of plaster come with it. Sigh.) Anyway, back to Barb's visit: she told me about a book she is reading about twelve "super foods" that are really good for you that you should try to include in your diet. Tea, broccoli, berries were some of them. I want to get the book and read it myself. We eat pretty well, but there is always room for improvement. Barb also said that she is writing a book of poems about Jazz (she is an accomplished poet). Barb is also the "dessert queen". She brought me some of her Famous Brownies. If I could choose what to taste in my last moments of life, I would choose to die with a bite of Barb's brownies in my mouth. They are SO GOOD. We talked about the library--Barb is the Newport librarian. I am excited about the new library going in just outside of the Historic District. It will be literally a minute away from my house! It was so good to have a visitor.
