"URGENT: HOMES NEEDED FOR 25 RESCUED COWS AND CALVES
The upstate New York-based Farm Sanctuary is looking for adoptive homes for 25 calves and cows seized by the Butler County Humane Society. The animals were found without food or water in an overcrowded barn, some standing in manure three feet deep. If you or someone you know can provide a permanent, loving home, please contact Farm Sanctuary IMMEDIATELY at (607) 583-2276 ext. 262 or shelter@farmsanctuary.org. Please note that Farm Sanctuary is offering to pay for all transportation costs to move these cows and calves to their new homes across the country."
Diary cows are some of the sweetest creatures on the face of the earth. They are gentle and kind animals, with trusting natures and huge brown eyes. I loved my Great Grandmother Oma's cows. She had one, Star, a black-and white Holstein, that I thought was named "Whattamatter." I thought that because Star would come to the edge of the fence and bellow for my grandmother. She would stick her head out the door and call, "Whattamatter, Star?"
